Apparently, Neville was supposed to lose to Enzo Amore in a Lumberjack match on “Raw” – this according to Ryan Satin at Pro Wrestling Sheet. Plans were then changed when he walked out before the show began. Kalisto was then given Neville’s spot and ended up with the Cruiserweight belt.
Note, too, that just because he may have requested his release doesn’t mean it was granted. Even if it would be granted, it may take time before it actually happens.
