Asuka vs. Emma
I’m still rolling my eyes that Emma is facing Asuka, but at least Asuka will go over someone who doesn’t matter as much as some of the other women. I know a lot of people love Emma, and I root for her, but against Asuka, I don’t think she’s has a chance, no chance in hell.
KB’s Predicted Winner – Asuka
Anybody remember when Mike Tyson returned to boxing in 1995 to face journeyman boxer, Peter McNeely? I do, and this has that kind of vibe. Like McNeely was 22 years ago Emma is in that same spot. She’s just there to get squashed and devoured. I think she has about as much of chance in defeating Asuka in Asuka’s much-anticipated debut as that Cow hanging above that Raptor cage in Jurassic Park.
Dre’s Predicted Winner: Asuka
Emma was Asuka’s second rival in NXT two years ago when the Empress of Tomorrow debuted. I guess I can’t complain too much since 1) Emma is finally getting TV time and 2) at least it’s not Dana Brooke jobbing first again. Emma knows what to expect, so one can hope they attempt to live up to their TakeOver: London match. Asuka will debut in winning fashion, but it’s whether or not she can keep her prestige for long is the big issue.
Prediction – Asuka
NO ONE…IS READY…FOR ASUKA!!!
THE WINNAH: ASUKA
Sasha Banks vs. Alicia Fox
I’m disgusted with the state of affairs in the WWE right now, especially with how certain workers are used. The fact that Sasha Banks is on the Kick Off is a travesty! There’s no reason for it, she’s so much better than that, and anyone who cannot see that is blind – McMahon. Yes, she’s struggled with injury a bit, but she’s one of the best female workers and is more over with the fans than most of the rest of the roster put together. She’s struggled with injury, so put her in a match with the most dangerous Diva on the roster. Oh, wait, Foxy is a female superstar, not a Diva, or that’s what they want us to believe. I’m really not impressed with any of this, and if Sasha doesn’t win, I’m worried for the rest of the night. Then again, the last Raw PPV sucked, as did most of the ones before it this year, so maybe I shouldn’t get my hopes up. If this match isn’t good, I’m planning on watching the rest of the PPV on my phone (if I can get a new one before then) while I watch Walking Dead on the TV.
KB’s Predicted Winner – Sasha Banks
Does anyone else remember this feud happening at Extreme Rules? Just me? Ugh. Sasha is better than the kickoff, but it’s rather telling that three women’s matches are booked for this show. Fox never gets pushed, and I really don’t see that starting anytime soon. This should really have a No DQ stipulation, but what do I know, right? Look for Sasha to win again.
Prediction – Sasha Banks
Hasn’t been a lot of build in this one. But with Nia Jax requested time off Creative had to be quick on their feet to find a substitute. It feels like Fox is getting a bit of a mini-push, so I’ll say she go overs on Sunday and celebrates her win by shelling her brand new shirt lol.
Dre’s Predicted Winner: Foxy
This is a quickly-thrown-together match that means almost nothing. As a result, I doubt many care. This is likely the result of trying to light a fire under Alicia given that she has a new shirt. If there is any justice…
THE WINNAH: The Boss
Raw Women’s Title Match: Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Mickie James
I’m not a Mickie James fan. I’ve never been a Mickie James fan, and I don’t see myself becoming a Mickie James fan. That being said, she has looked really solid in the ring and seems to be in better shape than we saw her in TNA. That being said, I’m not sure Bliss should drop the strap to her. We all know Bliss will get the strap back before long, especially with the way the women are looking on Raw lately. That being said, I think it’s now or never for Mickie to have one last run, and as much as I’m not a fan, I would like to see Mickie get one last run with the strap. Bliss will come right after the strap, hopefully leading to a solid feud heading into Royal Rumble, or possibly WrestleMania. Fingers crossed that they don’t screw this up.
KB’s Predicted Winner – Mickie James
Alexa vs. Nia Jax in a tables or ladders match would’ve been great here. Nonetheless, Mickie James is the “flavor of the month” while Alexa keeps the title warm for Asuka. It’s such a shame James has not been booked greatly since returning earlier this year. She was treated greatly in the build-up to her NXT debut last year, but man. This is one of those storylines where I’m low key rooting for Mickie just because she wants to prove she can still win the big one. However, I’m fairly confident Alexa will pull out the win one way or another.
Prediction – Alexa Bliss
While writing this I still have no idea who’s winning this, but that’s a good thing, and a testament to the effort creative has put into this feud and how well executed Alexa and Mickie have performed on mic to get this title match over. Screw it; I’m going gamble here and say Mickie wins woman’s gold for the 7th time.
Dre’s Predicted Winner: Mickie James
Mickie has made a surprisingly engaging foe for Alexa since this feud began. She takes NONE of Alexa’s crap, and I’d been enjoying it…till the last promo, Mickie did. For me, Mickie came off as unbelievable in it, and it took me out of it a bit. I really wish she had been “on” like she had been before to sell me straight through to TLC. She wasn’t so I care less than I should. I’m going rogue and…
THE WINNAH: HARDCORE COUNTRY!!!
Cruiserweight Title Match: Kalisto (c) vs. Enzo Amore
I’ll be shocked if there isn’t interference in this match. The Cruiserweight Division has been a wonky bit of craziness since Enzo joined, and I’m thrilled! The CW Division needed a kick in the pants, and Enzo was what they needed. The lack of personality over there has been astounding, and I blame McMahon as much as I do the CW superstars. They’ve not been given much to work with, and less time devoted to who they are as superstars. I was sad, but not shocked when A Double left because he should have been on the SD roster. I was shocked when Neville left, because he’d been CW Champion, was in solid storylines, and seemed to be doing well over there. I have to admit; I’m wondering who is next to leave? Will it be from the CW Division? Raw? SmackDown? Things are not looking good and compared to how the Light Heavyweight/CW Division was run back in the aughts; they are looking downright pathetic. I think the only thing they can do with this match has interference and leave the strap on Kalisto.
KB’s Predicted Winner – Kalisto
I was genuinely surprised and happy when Kalisto beat Enzo for the title in the main event of Raw. That was a really cool moment, and I loved the storytelling in the match alone with all the lumberjacks. The storytelling and mic skills are obviously what’s driving this feud since Enzo is lackluster within the ropes. This would’ve been a great ladder match, but regardless, I see Enzo taking the title back.
Prediction – Enzo
I was pretty impressed with there title match on Monday a couple of weeks ago. Kalisto was a stud as always, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well Enzo worked their match. So I’m actually interested to see if Enzo can duplicate that performance. I think regardless though Enzo regains the title here. He’s got a stable of goons backing him this time around, and I don’t see Kalisto being able to overcome that.
Dre’s Predicted Winner: Enzo
Enzo is, quite easily, the most charismatic star to wash up on “205 Live”’s shores since the show began. Heck, he’s the most charismatic star, other than Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, to be on any WWE show right now. This week on “205 Live”, he looked better in the ring than I’ve seen before too. They took the belt off of him far too quickly and what should have been a compelling feud has had some juice taken out of it. Still, if they do this right, the feud can continue, and Enzo can have his fangs back so…
THE WINNAH: THE REALEST GUY IN THE ROOM!
AJ Styles vs. Finn Balor
I’ve been out of touch for two days as I’ve been on the road and my phone died, so when I went to Wikipedia, I thought someone had made mistakes with who was in which match. Now that I know (some of) what’s going on, I’m thrilled! Honestly, I wrote the earlier matches before knowing this was on the card. I’m excited and thrilled. This match could easily steal the show. These two will leave it all out there. Hoping Balor will be The Demon in this match, and the more Halloween Demon he was in that horrible promo on Monday. Either way, Balor needs to win this match, after they go all out in the ring. Because of his feud with Bray, and that Raw is Balor’s show, he just has to win to save face. That being said, I’d love to see these two really go at it in the ring. Bullet Club Rules!
KB’s Predicted Winner – Balor
Prediction – Balor
So I guess Bray summoning the spirit of his deceased sister Sister Abigail has turned him into AJ Styles. I Kidd, Again it’s very unfortunate that Bray has comedown with this sickness that’s been spreading like wildfire throughout the WWE locker room so we won’t get to see any storyline progression this Sunday with Sister Abigail but on the other hand, AJ Styles will fill in for Bray to take on Finn. There’s a lot of history between these two so as thrown together as this may seem I feel like this I’d just beginning of the reformation of “The Club.” As for the match itself, I’m going roll with AJ Styles.
Dre’s Predicted Winner: AJ Styles
This is, of course, a late-breaking addition to the card. Bray was supposed to be in this match, but the illness is preventing it. One thing we know we’ll get is a very well-worked match. However, there’s no storyline between them, so there’s little reason to care about the outcome unless something materializes during the match.
THE WINNAH: The audience.
Brian Kendrick & Jack Gallagher vs. Cedric Alexander & Rich Swann
Wait, there are two Cruiserweight Division matches on this PPV, and no Universal Championship match? That’s total bull! I’m so disgusted by this PPV, and if I didn’t already pay $9.99 a month for my WWE Network, I sure as heck wouldn’t be spending a penny to see this show. I’m mortified by what the WWE has become, and completely disgusted by what this PPV looks like. Usually, on paper, a PPV has redeeming qualities. I’ve only found one redeeming quality in this show, and I’ll explain when I get to that match. As for this one, Swann and Alexander are more boring than pulling prickles out of my dog’s fur. More boring than watching my cats sleep. More boring than waiting an hour, in a room, for a doctor. At least Gallagher is interesting! And TBK was the most interesting superstar in the CW Division from day one. He might not be the most interesting, but he’s still in the top three! All that being said, there’s no way the Boring Bros will go over Gallagher and TBK.
KB’s Predicted Winner – – Gallagher & TBK
This card as a whole is lackluster, so I apologize for not having many nice things to say. Weeks ago when Jack Gallagher turned heel, I had called for Gallagher and Alexander to go one-on-one in a gimmick match since, you know, this is TLC. Instead, we’re getting yet another cruiserweight tag team match just to get people on the card. Cedric and Swann really don’t have much to lose, so honestly, Gallagher should capture the win to continue his momentum. Hopefully, we see some killer in-ring action, but I won’t hold my breath.
Prediction – Gallagher & Kendrick
Can’t say I’ve been invested into this Alexander/Gallagher feud but I at least some effort id being put into it so I’ll give it a shot. Kind of makes me wonder though why we aren’t getting a one on one rematch between the two here instead of a tag match that on paper seems better suited for RAW or 205 Live. Oh well, On this particular day I think Kendrick and Gallagher go over.
Dre’s Predicted Winners: Kendrick & Gallagher
Cedric has been showing some nice fire lately. It seems his feud with Gallagher was just what he needed. Gallagher, since turning heel, has become more interesting too, though he was hardly a wash-out as a face. Rich and Brian have become a bit stale (especially Swann) and both need to step it up again in order to keep the audience’s attention. Cedric’s anger has to culminate here so…
THE WINNAH: CEDRIC & RICH
TLC Match: Kurt Angle & The Shield vs. Miz & Strowman & Kane & Cesaro & Sheamus
Before I start raving about the change in this match, I have to worry about Angle and his neck. I know Kane, Strowman, Sheamus, Cesaro, and Miz will be VERY careful with Angle, but will Angle be careful with himself? He’s not known to remember his own limitations, so I have to worry. Angle is almost 49 and hasn’t had the best health record. Kane, on the other hand, is 50, but he’s also never had any major injuries (knock on wood). All that being said, I’m disgusted that this is the only match on the card that uses tables, ladder, and chairs, never mind stairs! The point of having a PPV like this is to utilize the instruments of destruction in the title of the show! Not doing that, this PPV could be named almost anything else, and it would make more sense! Really not impressed with the WWE, how they are handling PPVs, specifically Raw PPVs. The last SmackDown PPV was possibly the best PPV of 2017, but the card for this show is a mess! It’s truly sad that these superstars are getting sick, and I hope everyone heals quickly and bounces back fast. Further, I hope we have news for you soon about what is going on, our faithful readers.
Now, onto the actual match! I honestly expected that The Shield was supposed to win this match. They’re The Shield, and this was their first PPV match back together after over three years. With Angle stepping into this match, I still think The Shield will win, but with Rollins and Ambrose making sure (if he isn’t too beaten up, injured, hurt) Angle gets the three. Personally, I hope it’s Miz who gets pinned, but I’m all good if it’s Kane too. Kane has nothing to lose, other than his political race, at this point. I’m hoping he inducts his brother into the HoF soon, but I didn’t really expect to see him in the ring other than one last hurrah, at something like WrestleMania. Yes, I’d love to see him go out as his brother did. To me, it’s only fitting. If it’s Miz who is pinned, it would only set up for more greatness for Angle and Miz, both of which are at the top of their game (at least on the mic). So I think The Shield will pull out their first win in over three years, and if AJ and Finn don’t steal TLC, then Angle and The Shield absolutely will.
Prediction – Seth, Dean & Angle
Prediction – Seth, Dean & Angle
Talk about a shocking turn of the events. Unfortunately, my boy Roman has one down with an illness that will keep him out of this match that’s apparently taken hold of other talents as well, but I feel a little better knowing that Kurt Angle will fill his spot. However, the odds are still heavily stacked against Angle, Rollins & Ambrose. But I have a feeling that we may still get a late Roman Reigns run in and if not then Samoa Joe to tip the scales and for that reason, I’m going to go with Angle, Seth & Dean in what should be a fantastic TLC match.
Dre’s Predicted Winners: Angle, Seth & Dean
This is an interesting one because of Angle’s late inclusion due to Reign’s illness. This dilutes the whole “Shield” thing, so I’m not sure where they’ll go with this. ‘Course, at the time of this writing, I’m not sure WWE knows either. I’m not sure Angle has a thing to gain by being on the winning side. Ditto on everyone else on the other side. At this point, there are five on the other side, and one of those five is Strowman so…
THE WINNAH: Miz, Cesaro, Sheamus, Strowman, and Kane
