Davey Boy Smith Jr., one half of the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Champs, posted on Twitter that his years of grappling helped him save the life of a woman who was an emotional mess trying to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge. Smith saw her as he was driving over a bridge in Calgary and stopped, jumping over barricades to reach her. He knew not to grab her clothing, where to grab her hard and quickly, and how to take her down to the ground and keep her there until help arrived. The woman claimed to have a gun, but he told her that she wasn’t moving unless he wanted her to move. He kept her pinned down until police arrived.
Calgary police confirmed that the incident went down as Smith described.
