AJ Styles pinned Jinder Mahal on this week’s SmackDown Live in Manchester to win his second WWE Championship. As a result, Styles will now face Universal Champion Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series.
No word yet on plans for Jinder Mahal at the pay-per-view, but I have an idea for him.
It would seem Mahal vs. Styles for the WWE Title was going to be the Clash of Champions main event in December before booking plans were rearranged. And now it seems all but confirmed.
I’m honestly glad Vince said “screw it.” I was over Jinder as champion after Money in the Bank. As much as I wanted to see Brock destroy Jinder in a squash, I did NOT want there to be a chance of Mahal somehow pinning Lesnar. That would’ve been a horrible booking decision. I don’t see any argument about it.
So now that AJ is taking on The Beast, I’m under the impression Lesnar will probably win. To get that finish, Mahal and/or The Singh Brothers can march their way down to the ring or make some sort of appearance to distract Styles. That way there’s more fire added to their feud going in to the next SmackDown pay-per-view.
What do you think? Did WWE make the right decision tonight? Who do you think will win at Survivor Series? Sound off below!
