The Truth is…They All Want Recognition

Ah, the “go home” to “NXT:  War Games”.  I’m sitting here with my dad (who’s been a wrestling fan for years) and stepmom watching this.  I’m using their reactions here too.  This’ll freshen things up a little.  Let’s get into this, shall we?

Street Profits vs. Tino Sabbatelli & Riddick Moss

This makes me so happy.  Love seeing Street Profits getting a chance.  I also love that it’s getting Riddick and Tino some time out there too.  Montez, in particular, is VERY crisp out there and he has charisma for years!  Everything he does just looks so good.  This was a nice, quick match that told the story it was supposed to tell.  This feud hasn’t quite caught fire and I hope it does because both teams deserve some attention.

Velveteen Dream & Alistair Black vignette

This basically recapped the feud thus far.  Well done as always.  I’m sold on it and want to see them compete on Saturday.

Lars Sullivan vs. Raul Mendoza

As we started to watch this, my dad confused Lars with Kevin Sullivan.  Clearly, it’s been a while for him.  I digress.

Of course, Sullivan ran through Mendoza like a fat dude on his way to Krispy Kreme.  This match was intended to make Sullivan look even more menacing.  He attempted to continue attacking Mendoza after the match ended and Kassius came out to make the save.  In truth, he already looked menacing enough without this but it did its job.

Segment:  Johnny Gargano & William Regal

He faces Dunne next week for the UK Championship.  It set that up and did it’s job nicely.

As my stepmom watched, she decided that Goldberg and Sullivan look exactly the same.  She is definitely not wrong.  Again, I digress…

Mercedes Martinez vs. Ember Moon

These ladies can definitely go and they proved it here.  Of course, they didn’t have the time to really go for it but they used the time they had very well.  The match started slow but when it got running, it ran hard.  The running version of Tower of London performed by Martinez was just incredible.  Lots of near-finishes.  That Eclipse is the most vicious finisher on the roster.  My dad and stepmother believes Mercedes actually came off looking better than Ember did and she might be right.  Both looked really good.

The other three ladies came out to make their presence known but nothing came of it.  They just showed up to get our attention.  It certainly got mine as I can’t wait to see this four-way.  It should be a lot of fun.

Drew McIntyre & Andrade Cien Almas face off…

Drew has done a great since returning from the unspoken promotion.  He was clearly quite scripted here but Drew pulls it off really well.  He trashed-talked Andrade and Zelina beautifully.  Zelina is perfect slime and when they both came out, she just oozed it.  Andrade came out and they went at it but Almas got the upper-hand quickly.  We’ll see how Drew’s knee injury plays into his defense of the NXT title at “War Games”

So this wraps this show up.  My stepmom found the whole thing very over-the-top but she was into it – watching the whole thing and asking questions as it went along.  My dad felt that the tag team match really worked well and some of the high-flying stuff reminded him of Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka.  I can see that.  I can’t wait until “TakeOver”:  War Games”.  TakeOver always outdoes the main roster and this won’t be any different.  Don’t forget to join us here in “Dignified Discussion” on Saturday night at 7pm!  Botch…OUT!
