Samoa Joe Injured Last Night

Sadly, Samoa Joe was injured during his match with Rhyno on last night’s “Monday Night Raw”.  The injury is said to be a plantar fascia rupture or a thick tissue rupture under the foot.  Senior Ringside Physician Dr. Chris Amann has this to say:

“We took a look and believe he has a plantar fascia rupture, which is a thick tissue rupture under the foot.  We will get an MRI to confirm.  Treatment includes a period of immobilization in a boot with crutches and platelet-rich plasma injections.”

Thankfully, there is no surgery required for an injury of this type and it usually heals with just a few weeks of rest, though WWE has not commented on how long he’ll be out of action.  However, he will not be able to team with Bayley in the WWE Mixed Match Challenge with Bayley.  The polls showed him with a solid lead prior to his injury.

Botch Take:  Thankfully, this wasn’t as bad as it could have been.  A few weeks and he’ll be good as new.  I’ve pulled that muscle before but never torn it.  It hurts when you pull it; I can only imagine how much more so it hurts to tear it.
