Matt Hardy and Anthem Entertainment Have Found Resolution

Earlier today, Matt Hardy and Ed Nordholm of Anthem Entertainment finally reached an agreement concerning the “Broken” gimmick Matt used on TNA television from 2016 to 2017.  Previously, Anthem had held up the gimmick on the grounds that they “owned” the intellectual property associated with it as it appeared on their TV show.

As we’ve seen over the last few weeks, WWE has been using a slightly tweaked version of the gimmick – referring to “Woken” Matt Hardy”.  The similarities between the two gimmicks are clearly undeniable but it’ll be interesting to see if this new settlement changes the direction of the gimmick in any way.

Botch Take:  The gimmick as used on WWE has felt different to me and somewhat neutered as well.  Perhaps this agreement will remove all constraints and it can become as completely gonzo as it used to be.  If that happens, I’ll be thrilled!
