Hello, one and all. Sit back with a nice Northern Cuppa and toast (with marmalade, please) and relax as “The Court of Royal Opinion” is now in session…
AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Baron Corbin
They are really going crazy with these Fatal Five Way Matches lately, especially on SD. Personally, other than the actual Royal Rumble Match, they don’t need to give us more superstars in a match than four, but I’ve never been the biggest advocate of gimmick matches for the sake of changing up the same match we’ve seen 20 times in the previous month. It’s ridiculous, and it’s lazy.
Personally I feel that if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. I’ve been so excited to see AJ vs Nakamura at WrestleMania since he won the Royal Rumble Match, and I don’t see any reason to change that, especially to some like Cena or Corbin. On the other hand, why make this match all for naught? To be honest, I’m a bit torn after that speech Sami gave after pinning KO on the most recent SD. So, as much as I want to see AJ vs Nakamura at WrestleMania, there’s a bit of me who wants to see Sami walk into WrestleMania as WWE Champion. The problem with Sami winning the strap here is that I wanted to see Nakamura win at WrestleMania, and that would mean a horribly short reign for Sami if he won this match. As much as I want to see Sami as WWE Champion, this isn’t the way to make it happen, so AJ needs to keep the strap.
Queen KB’s Predicted Winner – AJ Styles
This one should be a lot of fun. There’s no way Baron gets strapped. Dolph is in there to take the pin from whoever does it. Given what we know about his new deal, we can guarantee that. I don’t think Cena is going to break the title reign record at a B-level PPV. Since there was absolutely nothing to lose when Sami pinned KO, I’m thinking that the whole thing was nothing more than a ruse. I think they’ll make it look like they’re separate competitors for a bit but then team up and neutralized the others. I’m thinking Kevin will come out of this with the belt and we’ll get the rematch at WrestleMania
The WINNAH! – Kevin Owens (& Sami Zayn as co-champions)
Charlotte Flair vs. Ruby Riott
This is a tough one for me. Charlotte has more than proven herself as Champion, but Ruby is a scrapper who could be great as Champion herself. That leaves me in quite a conundrum. That being said, this match could lead up to something epic between them at WrestleMania. A Cage Match, maybe? Something that makes sure Sarah and Liv don’t interfere, because I see them ending this match in DQ, leading to more issues between Charlotte and Ruby going forward.
Queen KB’s Predicted Winner – Ruby via DQ, Charlotte retains
They will make a very nice match of this and could steal the night if they so choose. Both of them are more than capable of tearing it up. Charlotte is already a star. She has been at the forefront of the Women’s Revolution for some time now and she’s always great in the ring (if not always so great on the mic). Ruby is going to be a huge star. She has all it takes…but it’s not time yet for her told the title…
The Usos vs. The New Day
I feel like this has gone on forever. We have seen these guys in so many matches together lately! I’m over it. Anyway, I think we are going to see some cracks forming in New Day as they lose this match. I’m itching to see Woods in 205 and Big E working his way up the ladder to the main event.
Queen KB’s Predicted Winner – Usos
The WINNAH! – No one
Bobby Roode vs. Randy Orton
I cannot think of a reason for Roode to drop the strap here, especially to Orton. It’s more than time for Roode to turn heel, and when better than when in the ring with Orton. I’m hoping for a solid match here, but nothing stellar. Roode is so much better than he’s been getting on the main roster, and I hope that changes sooner than later, because he’s not getting any younger.
Queen KB’s Predicted Winner – Bobby Roode
I’m a huge fan of Bobby Roode but I’m bored to tears with Randy Orton. People always complain about how little John Cena’s character has changed but no one says a word about Randy Orton. He’s basically been the same guy since he debuted. He tweaks it slightly when he’s heel but he’s not that much different even then. Bobby Roode hasn’t been champion that long and he deserves a nice long run. As a result…
Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Rusev
This match should be fantastic, but the problem is that neither of these guys should go over the other cleanly, especially this close to WrestleMania! That being said, with Nakamura main eventing at WrestleMania should mean he goes over here. Of course if English gets involved Rusev can win dirty, but that’s the ONLY reason Rusev should go over here, but it really needs to be Nakamura for the win going forward.
Queen KB’s Predicted Winner – Nakamura
I’m a big fan of both but this means nothing. This feud was only begun a couple of weeks ago and I’m not the least bit invested in it. There has to be some kind of motivation or I can’t care…and I don’t. At some point, Rusev is going to have to start getting victories or he’ll languish in Bray Wyatt territory. Nakamura has a rumored match at WrestleMania so he can’t lose. That said…
Becky Lynch & Naomi vs. Natalya & Carmella
I’m actually quite excited that two of the six matches are the women. Further, both of the matches look like greatness on paper. I’m actually excited for this match, because all four of them are great in the ring. Either way, this should be hard hitting and quite entertaining. I’m going with the heels going over here. I don’t know why, just a gut feeling. Honestly, I wish there was a reason, a storyline beyond a tiny segment on the most recent SmackDown, for me to really care about this match. I’m excited because of who is in the match, but I want to be excited for a reason for this match. They are really dropping the ball with storylines on SmackDown, and that’s absolute bull for this time of the year.
Queen KB’s Predicted Winner – Nattie & Carmella
All of these ladies can work so this’ll be fun to watch regardless. Also, the characters themselves aren’t boring so they’ll give me something to watch. Carmella has essentially been persona non grata since winning the MITB briefcase. My belief is that she’ll still have it here too. There’s just zero reason to care about who wins. So…
