Hey, kids. It’s the Botching One here to take another trip into “The Illustrious Future”. I’ll give you the original material we got this week. Let’s go, shall we?
Kairi Sane vs. Lacey Evans
I get what they’re trying to do with Lacey but so far so bad. I couldn’t care less about her at this point. Kairi is great but her gimmick is just bizarrely bad. Lacey is NOT good in there. She even managed to botch throwing Kairi’s head into the turnbuckle. It got some time and Lacey did get better as time went on. She’s still got some work to do but that’s part of what NXT is for.
Backstage promo – Shayna Baszler
She was masterful here. She put the interviewer in her place real quick. The interviewer was full of congratulations and Shayna was having none of it. Really good stuff.
Heavy Machinery (Otis Dozovic & Tucker Knight) vs. Tino Sabbatelli & Riddick Moss
This was actually a really good match. Tucker was in trouble for quite a bit of it and Moss & Sabbatelli looked good. Of course, they was going to be a debut here and there was with the War Raiders (aka War Machine) making their debut on NXT. They got huge chants while they were out there. So glad to see them show up.
The rest of the show was simply recaps of what we saw at “NXT TakeOver: New Orleans” and clips of those who debuted on “Monday Night Raw” and “Smackdown Live” this week. As a result, this is a rather short blog. They’ll get back to business next Wednesday and I’ll be here to cover it. See you next week for another peek into “The Illustrious Future”.
