The Court Of Royal Opinion: MITB Predictions

Welcome to all our Royal subjects to The Court Of Royal Opinion. Here in court, we, the writers of Wrestle Royalty drink copious amounts of Ale and Ingest multiple servings of Hasenpfeffer while we argue and debate who we believe will be booked to go over in each WWE PPV/Network special.

Please feel free to give your own predictions below in the comment section, but I wouldn’t advise doing it like we do! Beer and Sour Rabbit Stew comes back to haunt you trust me.

Today we have Queen KB, Botch, Sam and David Jr giving full predictions for Money In The Bank 2018 plus Dre, Marie and yours truly doing quick picks.

Daniel Bryan vs. Big Cass

Queen KB

I waited to write this one in hopes that something would happen on SD and this match would be changed, or something screwy would happen, but they’ve worked hard to keep Cass out of the ring, seemingly so he won’t be injured before this match, but in reality, him not being injured is only hurting Bryan. This better be the blow-off of this feud because if it isn’t, I might just have to really start destroying Cass and the man pushing him (McMahon) at every turn. I hope that this is a short, sweet destruction of Cass.

Queen’s Predicted Winner – Bryan

Botch

Why is this a thing?  Daniel Bryan doesn’t deserve this.  Big Cass is not ready for a feud with someone the caliber of Daniel Bryan, and he’s proven it each week we’ve had to endure this silly feud.  Cass has been horrific on the mic and this Tuesday was no exception.  I get it, bruh.  You’re big so you beat little guy.  Message received.  As for who wins, I’m honestly not sure.  Vince has a thing for big guys but he’s also not stupid.  Daniel is over like rover and it’d be dumb to put Cass over.  Okay, I have to commit…
THE WINNAH!:  DANIEL BRYAN

Sam

This has been a disaster of a feud. Big Cass has been a big flop with this push and it is not a good indicator for his future in the company if he keeps going in this direction.

The Winner: Daniel Bryan

David Jr

In the ring, Daniel Bryan is a pro.

But he had to retire 2 years ago.

Wrestling is hard on the body, we learned.

But then in 2018, he returned.

Crowd was cheerin’ and cryin’.

Because it was the return of Daniel Bryan.

The crowd was ready for him to make a splash.

But then he faced Big Cass at Backlash.

And Daniel Bryan took him to class.

At Money in the Bank, again it’s Daniel Bryan vs. Big Cass.

Big Cass might say it’s the boys vs. the men.

But I’m going with Daniel Bryan, again.

Winner: Daniel Bryan

Duke Dre

Intercontinental Title Match: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Elias

Queen KB

This one is easy, which means that it won’t be. Honestly, it’s time for Elias to win the IC strap, but it’s too early for Rollins to lose it. Honestly, I’d prefer for this feud to continue for much longer than this match. Actually, I don’t know if I want to see Elias win the strap here, even though he’s more than ready. Well, unless they continue this feud, as this feud is a great thing for both of these guys. I’m going to call for this match to end in DQ so that the feud can continue and grow into something huge, which both of these guys can absolutely do. They could give us the feud of the summer. I’m looking toward Elias winning at the next PPV and their feud blowing off at SummerSlam.

Queen’s Predicted Winner – DQ

Botch

How much fun will this be?  HA!  I am a huge Elias fan (the album!  where is his album?) and who doesn’t love Seth Rollins?  These two can go and they will here.  This is one of my favorites going in.  Can you imagine how completely insufferable Elias would be with the title?  It will be DELICIOUS!
THE WINNAH and NEWWWW!:  ELIAS

Sam

This is one where either result can be seen. Elias has been money ever since making his main roster debut and Seth has just been on another level for the last few months. Both would make logical winners so I just must go with my gut.

The Winner: Seth Rollins

David Jr

BURN IT DOWN!!!

As Raw goes from town to town.

Who’s matches have been must see?

Why that would be Raw’s MVP.

And who is it that’s picking up all these wins?

It’s Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins.

There are two in this match, I’ll show now bias.

Who wants to Walk With Elias?

In the ring or playing his guitar.

Elias is a future main event star.

So hopefully this match will be off the chain.

I’m picking Seth Rollins to retain.

Winner: Seth Rollins

Duke Dre

  • Seth Rollins wins & retains IC Championship (47%, 8 Votes)

Bobby Lashley vs. Sami Zyan

Queen KB

I’ve been over this since before it started. I was against Lashley coming to the WWE from the start, and I think I was right. Many people said that Lashley grew a lot in TNA, but I don’t see it! Sami is killing himself to carry this feud, and not reaping any of the rewards! The man is one of the best workers in the WWE and he’s stuck working this crap feud. Between him and Bryan it feels as though McMahon has something huge against them, no matter how much, how long, they’ve carried the shows they’re on. I’m disgusted. Completely, totally, and utterly disgusted! While I doubt this will happen, because they want to build Lashley to face Brock Lesnar, but Sami should win this match. Not only should Sami win this match, but they need Lashley to go elsewhere so Sami can have a real feud where he doesn’t have to do all the work to reap none of the rewards. So over this crap!

Queen’s Predicted Winner – Sami Zayn

Botch

We’ve now entered the Melatonin portion of the card.  I’m yawning as I type this.  The only good thing that will come out of this match is that Sami will be out of this nowhere feud.  I feel awful for him for having been stuck with this.  It got him on TV but that’s all I can say for this.  He has worked his face off trying to make this work and was barely met a quarter of the way by the writing team and Bobby himself.  We don’t care any more about Bobby than we did before this feud started and I doubt this match will change that.  That said, the winner is rather obvious as they want Bobby for Brock.
THE WINNAH!:  BOBBY LASHLEY

Sam

This could have been good but has been horrible at every turn. Sami has tried to make this into something but Lashley just doesn’t emote anything at all. Lashley could use the win but I do not think he deserves it from his work in this program one bit.

The Winner: Sami Zayn

David Jr

Before we talk about Lashley vs. Zayn,

What would be more excruciating pain?

Having your feet and hands, full of blisters?

Or listening more about Bobby’s sisters?

I know what my answer would be.

As for the winner, I’m picking Bobby Lashley.

Smackdown Tag Team Title Match: The Bludgeon Brothers (c) vs. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson

Queen KB

While I’m happy the Good Bros are getting something of a push, I don’t think they have any chance against this B Team. Harper and Rowan are too strong, and while Harper lost last week, that was a fluke. There’s no way they should lose to anyone this early in their run, because they’re two huge guys who could make the SD Tag Division to work that much harder, and I love it. I want more, so much more. Therefore the Bludgeon Bros have to retain and keep destroying all in their path.

Queen’s Predicted Winner – Bludgeon Bros

Botch

The fun continues.  They’ve done almost nothing with either of these teams.  You’ll have to forgive me if I’m not that enthused.  WWE isn’t either.  They’re placing this on the kick-off.  Gotta love that.  The tag champs are defending the titles…on the kick-off.  This is proof that Vince is running cold on tag teams as he periodically does.  As for who wins, that’s kinda easy, really…
THE WINNAH!:  THE BLUDGEON BROTHERS

Sam

I will be surprised if this is more than a squash match. The Good Brothers are good but haven’t really been given the chance. Meanwhile, I have been unable to get into the Bludgeon Brothers. The just haven’t done much since their re-debut.

The Winner: Bludgeon Bros

David Jr

Here we have two sets of “Brothers”.

Though, they all have different mothers.

One set of Brothers claim to be good.

Talking more about Gallows and Anderson, I should.

But I don’t see how Harper & Rowan lose.

Yes, the Bludgeon Brothers is who I choose.

Roman Reigns vs. Jinder Mahal

Queen KB

Can this just be over? They’re taking two of the most hated superstars – not heels that are over, but actually hated by the fans in a way that they don’t want to see them at all – and putting them in the ring against each other. Honestly, I really don’t care who wins, or who loses, I just hope it’s a short match. So I’m flipping a coin on this one.

Queen’s Predicted Winner – Reigns

Botch

Is it wrong that I’m just not that into this?  My favorite person who’ll be involved in this match is Sunil Singh.  I can’t wait for Samir to come back and for the two of them to be a tag team again.  That prospect is far more interesting than this match.  Okay, so I have to predict the winner.  Real hard, right?
THE WINNAH!:  ROMAN REIGNS

Sam

I have not cared for this at all. This is to get Roman over plain and simple.

The Winner: Roman Reigns

David Jr

Now we get to the feud of the year.

Between two wrestlers, that we all hold dear.

When these two fight the crowd will go, “WOW!”

Ok, ok, I’ll be serious now.

During this feud, Roman Reigns speared Jinder Mahal.

And he went through what was supposed to be a wall.

I must pick a winner, I fear.

Ok, Roman Reigns get the three count, after the spear.

Smackdown Women’s Title Match: Carmella (c) vs. Asuka

Queen KB

I’m actually quite interested in seeing how this match plays out. In fact, other than the MITBLMs, the Women’s Championship Matches are the ones I care most about on this card. I’m expecting a lot from this match, but also hope that the Aussie girls who are sucking up too much air-time on SD don’t get involved in any way, because I really want a clean ending to this one. Unlike a lot of people, I think Carmella has done a solid job with the strap, but it’s time for Asuka to swing back up and become Champion.

Queen’s Predicted Winner – Asuka

Botch

Oh, how I love this.  Carmella has turned into one heck of a heel.  She’s so cocky, she makes Alexa Bliss jealous.  She also has a ton of charisma and it’s totally right that she’s the champ right now.  Asuka already lost to Charlotte. She can’t handle another loss.  It’s kinda that easy.  Carmella whining about how unfair her loss was could be a whole lotta fun.  So…
THE WINNAH AND NEWWWW!:  ASUKA

Sam

Carmella has been decent as champion but feels like she is missing something. This is another one I feel will get extended somehow. I expect either the IIconics or Sonya Deville/Mandy Rose to get involved somehow.

The Winner: Carmella by shenanigans

David Jr

Last year, Carmella won the Money in the Bank briefcase.

And she waited and waited for the right time and right place.

She cashed in on Charlotte Flair to claim her crown.

As the Women’s Champion of Smackdown.

Then at Backlash the results would be repeated.

Then we have Asuka for 2 ½ years was undefeated.

Then at Wrestlemania, she lost to Charlotte Flair.

Yes, the same Charlotte that lost to Carmella, I swear.

So, Charlotte beat Asuka and Carmella beat Charlotte, twice.

Carmella must have the champagne on ice.

But if she’s put in the Asuka Lock, she’ll tap out quick.

Then we’ll have a new champion, Asuka is my pick.

Winner: Asuka

Duke Dre

Winner: Asuka

Mistress Marie

Winner: Asuka

Sir Mitch

Winner: Asuka

SD Women's Championship?

  • Carmella wins & retains Women's Championship (29%, 4 Votes)
  • Asuka wins but Carmella retains Women's Championship (29%, 4 Votes)
  • Asuka wins & becomes Women's Championship (21%, 3 Votes)
  • DQ & Carmella retains Women's Championship (21%, 3 Votes)

Raw Women’s Title Match: Nia Jax (c) vs. Ronda Rousey

Queen KB

I’m so interested in seeing how this match is going to play out. With Nia being more of a tweener/face than anything else, and Ronda being such a badass, this could be a decent match. That being said, Ronda is not ready to be strapped, but she cannot lose clean in her first singles match. Because of this, and how quickly Nia tapped out on Raw, there’s no way this will end clean. Either the Women’s MITBLM winner will get involved, or some other type of screwiness. Personally I think it’s too early for the whole Nattie thing to go down as so many of us thought it would, so I don’t think it will be her cashing in, but it could be her trying to ‘help’ and screwing it all up for Ronda. No matter how it happens, there’s no way this one should end clean, in any way, shape, or form.

Queen’s Predicted Winner – DQ/Craziness

Botch

The face-off on Monday evening left a bit to be desired but that’s okay.  This is a little weird that Ronda’s first singles match is a title match and I’m not sure how she’ll do here.  She’s not in there with Natalya or one of the horsewomen who can completely carry her.  Nia is definitely no slouch but she’s not the horsewomen either.  Ronda seems quite committed and I’m sure she’ll put the work in.  I just hope she doesn’t get too excited and go too fast like she did at WrestleMania.  As for who wins, Ronda just can’t.  She has to look strong though so something screwy has to happen here.  Maybe it involves Natalya?
THE WINNAH AND STILL!:  NIA JAX

Sam

I have not been into this feud from the start. It feels random and out of nowhere and I just have a hard time caring much. It is way too early for Ronda to lose but also too early for her to get the title.

The Winner: Ronda Rousey by Countout, Nia retains

David Jr

Ok, let me give you some facts.

The Rock is a cousin of Nia Jax.

A fact about Ronda Rousey.

She used to be part of the UFC.

The Nia Jax fact, you probably knew.

The Ronda Rousey fact, you probably did, too.

I’m picking Ronda Rousey to win.

Followed by a Money in the Bank cash-in.

Winner: Ronda Rousey (Followed by a Cash-in, see my Women’s MITB prediction)

Duke Dre

Winner: Ronda Rousey wins title clean (Natalya cashes in successfully afterwards)

Mistress Marie

Winner: Ronda Rousey with Nattie cashing in

Sir Mitch

Winner: Ronda Rousey

Raw Womens' Championship Match?

  • Ronda Rousey wins but Nia Jax retains Women's Championship (38%, 5 Votes)

Last Man Standing Match For The WWE Title: AJ Styles (c) vs. Shinske Nakamura

Queen KB

If Nakamura doesn’t win this match, low blow or no low blow, then he has nowhere else to go on SD and should either go to Raw or back to NXT. I don’t understand why he’s not won the strap already, or why they’re dragging this feud out. AJ is really solid on mic, but even he has run out of things to say to carry this feud. Then there’s Nakamura who is really great as a heel. The problem is that there’s almost no chemistry between AJ and Nakamura. In the ring, on mic, nothing. It’s just not working. So it’s time for Nakamura to win the strap and end all of this ick that seems like it will never end.

Queen’s Predicted Winner – Shinsuke Nakamura

Botch

We have been awaiting the match where these two completely tear the house down. They are more than capable of doing it for sure.  Will this be that match?  I predict it will be.  I also predict that AJ has held the title more than long enough and that a loss wouldn’t hurt him.
THE WINNAH and NEWWWW!:  SHINSUKE NAKAMURA

Sam

Shinsuke has really come into his own as a heel and this program has gotten better and better. Him and AJ have great chemistry and it has really brought this rivalry up to another level that wasn’t seen in the Wrestlemania build. I think they will drag this out just a bit further.

Result: No Contest, AJ retains

David Jr

At Wrestlemania, AJ Styles won match number one.

Then Nakamura hit a low blow after the match was done.

AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura weren’t through.

At the Greatest Royal Rumble, they had match number two.

A double count-out, the ending would be.

At Backlash, they had match number three.

After Styles and Nakmura kicked each other with a double low blow.

Neither could answer the ten count, it was a Double TKO.

At Money in the Bank, they will fight once more.

The stipulation was picked by the winner of match number four.

Match 4 on Smackdown, Nakamura won on that night.

At first, Nakamura picked the stipulation to be a Pillow Fight.

But, Shinsuke Nakamura had to pick a match that was demanding.

The match that Nakamura picked was the Last Man Standing.

So, who will be the winner of match number five?
Shinsuke Nakamura will be the New WWE Champion of Smackdown Live!

Women’s MITB Ladder Match: Ember Moon vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Becky Lynch vs. Natalya vs. Lana vs. Naomi vs. Sasha Banks

Queen KB

For quite a while many of us thought Nattie would win this one and cash in on Ronda, screwing over their friendship and making for a feud that would truly help Ronda move forward, but with Nattie’s knee injury – whichever knee they remember is injured – and Ronda making Nia tap, I’m not so sure.

As the last Women’s MITBLM was won by Carmella, who is on SD, I want to say that the winner will be a woman from Raw. As much as I’d like to see Charlotte, Becky or Naomi win this match, I’m removing them from my list. Lana had no chance as she’s so not ready for it, and I’m not sure she ever will be. Further, I pulled Nattie out of the running. That leaves Bliss, Sasha, and Ember Moon. While I cannot put my finger on why, I cannot see Sasha walking around with that case. Bliss is an obvious choice for so many reasons, but she can get another title shot at any point. I like to see this match won by someone who might not otherwise get a chance at a Championship match, and that’s Ember. I think Carmella proved that she’s right up there with the rest of the women by winning last year, so I want to see Ember Moon do the same this year!

Queen’s Predicted Winner – Ember Moon

Botch

This is likely going to be amazing.  These women will make sure it is.  There are two things I’d love to see happen.  First, I’d love to see Ember take this.  The second fun thing here would be if Lana took it.  I know, I know, she’s not amazing in the ring but think of it:  Husband and wife MITB winners!  C’mon, you know that’d be fun.  Oh, the places WWE could go with something like that.  While I dearly love my flame-haired She-nom…
THE WINNAH!:  LANA IS THE BEST, LANA NUMBER 1 (clap clap)

Sam

This is the one I have had the hardest time picking a winner. I have gone back and forth between Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks but in the end, I will go to the one who will benefit the most out of what Money in The Bank can provide.

The Winner: Sasha Banks

David Jr

Is it can’t miss,

If I went with Alexa Bliss?

Would it be fair,

If I picked Charlotte Flair?

Winning the match will be no easy cinch.

And I am not picking Becky Lynch.

Should I pick Sasha Banks?

I will have to say, “No, Thanks!”

It may be too soon,

To pick Ember Moon.

Now, I’m only down to 3.

And I’m not picking Naomi.

Rusev says, “Lana is the best, Lana #1”

But her chances of winning are none.

I could have said this from the start.

But I’m picking Natalya Neidhart.

Winner: Natalya

Duke Dre

Winner: Natalya

Mistress Marie

I have to say, after last year, I have VERY low expectations going into this match, especially with the announced participants. Money in the Bank is supposed to be a match to elevate talent that need that small boost to get to the next level, and for the most part, the men’s match will showcase that. But the Women’s is just a cluttered field of people that have either been in the spotlight over the past year (Bliss and Charlotte), or clearly established stars(Naomi, Sasha, Natalya, and Becky).

The ONLY two people in this match that need anything from this match is Lana and Ember Moon, and both of them are far too early in their main roster time to pull the trigger on. Ember is the only one that has a real need for the push, but I feel she can get over without the case. So who deserves the honor? Well, I’m going into left field and going to say Natalya. She has been a stalwart member of the women’s roster for over a decade and deserves another accolade for her trophy case. Plus, out of all of the other women, Nattie makes the most sense, with a built in story with Rousey in the wings upon cash-in.

Winner: Natalya

Sir Mitch

Winner: Becky Lynch

Women's MITBLM?

  • Ember Moon (38%, 5 Votes)
  • Nattie (15%, 2 Votes)

Men’s MITB Ladder Match: Braun Strowman vs. Finn Bálor vs. The Miz vs. Rusev vs. Bobby Roode vs. Kevin Owens vs. Samoa Joe vs. TBA (Big E, Kofi Kingston, or Xavier Woods)

Queen KB

I have a Raw woman winning the MITBLM, so I need to have a SD guy winning this one. That takes out Strowman, Roode, KO, and Balor. I don’t think any of those men, other than possibly Balor, really needs to win, though it would be a great way for Strowman to get his hands on Brock Lesnar. Personally I think Strowman needs to destroy Brock Lesnar so that we can move on from that epic mess and actually have the Universal Champion on Raw, not hiding away at his home – but that’s a whole other rant!

That leaves Joe, Miz, Rusev, and whichever member of New Day wants to cash it in. Joe could be great with the case, but I don’t see him carrying it around, nor do I think he needs it to go after Nakamura over the summer. Miz could do great with it, but he also doesn’t need the case to move forward, he’s already carrying SD much of the time anyway. I could see English carrying around Rusev’s case for him. Actually, it would be really funny to see English carrying around both the men’s and women’s MITB cases if Rusev and Lana were to win, but that would be really bad too. Therefore I’m down to New Day. I really think that Woods should compete in this match and then Big E should cash it in when it’s time. All the work they’ve put into New Day not stating which member of the faction would be working this match makes me think that they’re going to win it. This match is no DQ, so all three can be involved, with the chosen member grabbing the case. It makes perfect sense to me, which means I’m probably way off the mark, but it looks right to me.

Queen’s Predicted Winner – New Day

Botch

The way New Day “big ups” Big E., he’ll likely be the one in the match.  As for who wins, all of them could make a case, really.  As I said above, the most fun would be if Rusev took it.  I would also love to see Big E. take it to very slightly separate him from the New Day pack.  Still…
THE WINNAH!:  It’s RUSEV DAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Sam

Short and to the point. If WWE ever want to capitalize on Rusev Day, this is the perfect time for it.

The Winner: Rusev

David Jr

While, I’d love to pick the Miz.

I don’t think the briefcase will be his.

Whether it’s Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods or Big E,

I don’t think it will be any of these 3.

Money in the Bank may land on Rusev Day.

But, Rusev winning, I say no way.

Let’s see, next we’ve got Finn.

And I don’t think he’ll win.

Bobby Roode may be Glorious.

But he will not be victorious.

Owens might think he’s better than the other 7.

But, I am not going to go with Kevin.

Who does everybody love better than Roman?

Why that’s Braun Strowman.

But do I think he is going to win, well no.

My pick to win is Samoa Joe.

Winner: Samoa Joe

Duke Dre

Winner: Finn Bálor

Mistress Marie

Now this is what MITB should be used for! Everyone in this match, even down to the three members of New Day, need the case to properly propel themselves further in a singles career. Guys like Balor, Miz, and Owens, who have held the top title before and have since been regulated further down the card, guys like Joe, Braun, and Roode that haven’t hit that plateau yet… and guys like Rusev and all three members of the New Day, who have developed that cult following that the trigger should have been pulled before now. This is what makes this match special, the fact that it can turn a good career into a great one. Miz has already experienced this, as his run cemented himself as a top guy in the company, even if a lot of people wouldn’t see it until later.

And while I would love to have that specter of The Monster Among Men looming with the MITB case, or give the Pride flag waving Finn Balor his just due, or make it all about Rusev Day… I can’t. And I can’t for two big reasons, and both of them involve the same man: CM Punk. See, Punk already had one record #Shattered this week, his Longest Modern Reign. Brock Lesnar took that accolade. And now, in the same town 7 years ago that he pulled one of the arguably greatest moments in WWE history by walking out with the title in his hometown at this very PPV, another of his records could fall. And with Punk embarrassing their doctor in court last week, I could see WWE being petty enough to make another record fall by giving Miz the case.

Punk is the only man to win MITB twice, and by letting Miz win it, that effectively removes any reason to ever allude to him again. So while I feel there are many others that deserve it more, I’m going to call for the upset here and give it to The Miz.

Winner: The Miz
