Jay Lethal Wins ROH World Championship At Live Event

Jay Lethal won the ROH World Heavyweight Championship at the ROH TV tapings in Fairfax, Virginia on Saturday night. The match also featured Dalton Castle, Matt Taven, and Cody Rhodes.

This is Lethal’s second title reign. At the Best In The World pay-per-view, it was teased that he would be the next person in line for the title. This would also explain why Castle retained the title at the PPV. The belief was that Castle would drop it at the PPV because of lingering injuries he’s been working through and because of the current storyline regarding the Main Event of All In for the NWA World Title. The storyline that was being run prior to the PPV was the NWA Champ Nick Aldis only agreed to the match so long as Cody won the ROH Title and put that on the line as well.

But for whatever reason, ROH has decided to go in another direction. The match is available now for Honor Club subscribers.

Sir Mitch Says: While Jay lethal is a phenomenal worker who more than deserves a second run at the top of ROH, this does put a wrench in the plans for ALL IN! But ROH’s creative team do pride themselves on not doing the obvious and giving the fans a show they will walk away happy with so we really shouldn’t be shocked by this. And I’m sure the Main Event of All In will be sorted in the coming weeks via the “Being The Elite” and “Ten Pounds Of Gold” YouTube shows.
