There was one spot during the match between Hiromu Takahashi and Dragon Lee that had everybody holding their breath. The spot had Dragon Lee performing his Phoenix Plex onto Takahashi but instead of cradling him as intended, he let him go and he landed hard on his head and neck area. Takahashi would go on to finish the match and retain his IWGP Jr. Heavyweight title but would collapse backstage and was rushed to the hospital. New Japan Pro Wrestling officials are fearing the worst and believe that he may have suffered a broken neck from the spot. The tweet below shows the spot and one can believe why NJPW officials are indeed worried. We will keep you updated as soon as more details become available.

S.A.M.’s Spiel: When I saw that spot live, I wondered if Takahashi had gotten injured because that is one scary spot. Obviously adrenaline was flowing through Takahashi so he didn’t realize the possible severity of the injury and hopefully he did not suffer a broken neck. Takahashi is one of the most over wrestlers in NJPW and I do hope he has a safe and speedy recovery.
