During an interview with The Business Times, Bryan said that he would likely sign a new deal.
“The wrestling world is an interesting world right now,” Bryan said. “but I love working with WWE, and my wife (Brie Bella) is a part of WWE, and so there’s a good chance I’ll resign.”
As of a few days ago, the word in WWE was that he had yet to sign a new deal, and there was some speculation that he would make a surprise appearance at the All In show in Chicago on 9/1 but all of that seems unlikely since it’s very likely that he will sign a new deal.
Bryan has been working a full-time schedule since he was cleared in late March, but he has said that if he signs a new deal, he wants to work limited dates going forward because he wants to spend more time at home with his family. Another sign that Bryan was likely to sign a new deal is that he has expressed interest in a WrestleMania storyline with The Miz. But on the other hand, he has also expressed frustration with WWE’s creative team and WWE’s higher-ups.
Bryan will team with Kane on Sunday to challenge The Bludgeon Brothers for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship at Extreme Rules in Pittsburgh, PA.
Sir Mitch Says: It is still unclear what Bryan’s next move will be, but one thing is for sure…WWE, NJPW, CMLL and ROH will all be making HUGE offers to Bryan to secure his services.
But as his Wifes reality TV career is tied up in WWE, I’m guessing he won’t wont to risk taking that away from her by signing elsewhere.
