It would seem there was more to why Kane was “injured” in an attack by the Bludgeon Bros backstage prior to Team Hell No’s match with them for the Smackdown Live Tag Team Titles. Kane was in attendance this past Thursday in Knox County as Tennessee Mayor Tim Burchett declared that day to be Rusev Day and was seen to be limping around in a medical walking boot. The image below shows Kane in his walking boot.
Kane would be asked about the injury at the event but said that it wasn’t anything wrestling related and he should be fine for his match at Extreme Rules.
UPDATE: It has been reported that Kane has suffered an injury to his Achilles’s tendon during the go-home edition of Smackdown Live last week. He is not expected back anytime soon as he is prepping for the final run of his push to become Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee.
S.A.M.’s Spiel: Well this certainly explains the angle to “injure” Kane and have his role in the Tag Title match be as limited as possible. It will be interesting to see where this goes from here and the specifics of the injury are not known as of this writing. Hopefully it isn’t anything too serious and he can finish out this current run with Daniel Bryan as Team Hell No. We will update on his injury status as more details become available.
