Brian Christopher (Brian Lawler, son of WWE Hall of Famer, Jerry “The King” Lawler) committed suicide by hanging earlier today in his jail cell. He was booked on charges of a DUI and for evading police. We know him mostly from his his time as Grand Master Sexay as one-half of the tag team “Too Cool” with Scotty 2 Hotty. He began his career with the USWA back in 1988 and went through WWE and TNA during the course of his career – along with spending lengthy stints on the indies. Throughout his adult life, he struggled mightily with alcohol, a battle he ultimately lost. He was only 46 years-old.
Botch Take: Why it is that alcohol isn’t treated the same way illicit drugs are has baffled me for years. They are the same thing and can lead to the exact same result if one becomes addicted. Alcohol is little more than a socially-acceptable way to kill oneself and I don’t touch the stuff. It’s a real shame that Brian couldn’t overcome his addictions and our thoughts go out to his family and friends during this terribly difficult time.
