WWE has added quite possibly the biggest name to this year’s Mae Young Classic. 23-year veteran Meiko Satomura is the latest name to be announced for the Mae Young Classic. Satomura is a Japanese wrestling legend that is known for her Death Valley Bomb and Scorpion Rising axe kick. Satomura is known for Joshi Strong Style (the hard-hitting in-ring style associated with Japanese female wrestlers). She began training at the age of 14 in 1994 and made her professional debut the following year. Satomura even competed in WCW early in her career and was mentored by Chigusa Nagayo (one-half of the famous Crush Girls tag team), she also trained under catch-wrestling icon Billy Robinson.
It didn’t take long for a response from Sasha Banks as she made it clear on Instagram what she desired in the image below.
S.A.M.’s Spiel: This is undoubtedly the biggest name to be added to this year’s Mae Young Classic. It also makes picking a winner that much harder given how talented many of these women are. This is truly shaping up to be a can’t miss event and I cannot wait to watch this unfold.
