Jim Neidhart Has Passed Away UPDATE

Former Hart Foundation member with Bret Hart and Natalya’s father, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, has passed away.  As of now, the cause of death is unknown.  Here’s B. Brian Blair’s tweet announcing his passing:

Jim signed with WWF in 1985 when Stu Hart sold Stampede Wrestling to WWF.  Both Neidhart and Bret Hart were part of that deal.  They came together to form the Hart Foundation formed shortly thereafter as managed by Jimmy Hart (no relation).  They had an incredible run together form 1985 – 1991 and then formed The New Foundation with Bret’s younger brother, Owen, at the end of that year.  Information at this point is rather sketchy so we’ll keep an eye on this story and add more as it becomes available.  Bret would join both of them in a Hart Foundation reunion in 1997.

Jim stayed active on the scene even after leaving WWF/E, wrestling for WCW for a year, appearing for TNA once in 2009, and working on the independents.

Information on Jim’s death is a bit sketchy at the moment so we’ll keep an eye on this story as it develops further.  Of course, all of us at Wrestle Royalty wish all of family and friends peace as they deal with this terrible tragedy.

UPDATE: It appears as though Neidhart fell in his home, hitting his head, and succumbed to his injuries.  The paramedics were called to the scene with the report of a man having seizures and convulsions.  There was no sign of foul play.  Further, Neidhart’s family knew his health was declining as he was suffering from Alzheimer’s.  His daughter’s match, scheduled for tonight’s Raw against Alexa Bliss has been canceled.
