Hey, kids! It’s the Baron of all things Botch with another stellar “Pickup”. We are now getting stories…and good ones!…in “205 Live”. Who’da thunk it, right?
Backstage segment – Buddy Murphy & Tony Nese
Thankfully, Nese barely spoke; Buddy did almost all of it. Sadly, I didn’t believe a word he said. He had no edge. Thanks but no thanks.
Gran Metalik (w/ Lucha House Party – Kalisto & Lince Dorado)
I am beyond tired of the Lucha House Party at this point. They are on every show each week and have been since Watergate. I seriously need a break from them. Nese has never done anything for me and I’m even less interested in him than the Lucha House Party. Nese’s main issue is that he’s just completely boring. All he’s got is the “I’ve got abs and you don’t…nya” thing. All of that said, this was definitely not a bad match. Quite the opposite; this was very good.
Backstage segment – Drake Maverick & Mustafa Ali
Nice segment. Very short but it moved the story along. Mustafa can’t get in the ring again until Drake approves it. I like this!
Noam Dar vs. Bryan Kelly (w/ Lio Rush on commentary)
Josh Alexander (Bryan Kelly) is back! He was just on “Raw” this week and he’s been on “205 Live” before was well. Looks like WWE has taken a bit of interest in him. I don’t blame them; he’s phenomenal. He jobbed well here. Noam is always fun. He very much has his own thing and I really like it. Lio was so much fun on commentary here. The guys just got silos full of “it”. I’ve gone on about him before so I’ll spare you. Just know that he’s a really big deal that’s soon to happen.
Backstage segment – Cedric Alexander
Cedric is going to “play nice”. Of course…LOL! That means this will descend into complete and utter chaos. I’m here for it!
Cedric Alexander & TJP
Cedric kept it short which his good because he can’t hack it otherwise. TJP is far better and, as a result, was far better. In the ring, TJP has become completely sadistic. The abdominal stretch using the middle rope to make it worse was just beautiful. These two together was just incredible. They are incredible in the ring and their chemistry is just scary good. Fantastic match. The attack sequence at the end with Drew & Jack was nice too.
As usual, “205 Live” tears the doors off with the last match of the evening. On this occasion, though, nothing disappointed and the show was more even. This was quite enjoyable. Maybe this will be the shape of things to come? Come back next week for another “Pickup”!
