Cody will be undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery on February 12 in Atlanta. The surgery will keep him out of action for two to three months but he’s not scheduled to wrestle until Double Or Nothing on the 25th of May,
His knee issues all started back in November after he was pulled from the ROH Global Wars tour once hearing his knee pop while throwing his shirt into the crowd. Once getting an MRI, it was revealed that he would need surgery to repair the damage done to his meniscus.
However, he decided to delay the surgery after wrapping up his commitments with Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling by working Final Battle and WrestleKingdom.
Sir Mitch Says: While there are only partial tears in his knee requiring a scope as opposed to full-blown knee reconstruction, it still must have been very painful for Cody to work matches on it. We sometimes forget just how much punishment workers put their bodies through and don’t respect the level of commitment these people have.
Whatever feelings you may have about certain pro wrestlers (positive or negative) we should all have respect for them for getting in the ring and trying to entertain the masses.
