WWE Championship Match:
Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Kevin Owens

Queen KB:  I’m actually really looking forward to this one. As much as I love Kofi, this is just a swerve before we get to WrestleMania. This only prolongs the storyline in a way that makes any loss that either Bryan or Kofi would have had in this match into a nonissue. Bringing KO back the way they did, pushing him in front of Kofi, just as McMahon suspended Becky to keep her out of the main event at WrestleMania was to keep the storylines going. All of these tactical moves by McMahon have made these storylines so much more interesting, and prolonged them going into WrestleMania. I’ll be shocked if Rowan and all of New Day doesn’t get involved with this match. Obviously Bryan has to retain, no matter what happens in the match.

Queen’s Predicted Winner – Daniel Bryan

Baron Botch:  I’m going to be doing a lot of this (and I’m sure I won’t be alone) but this match is fairly meaningless.  As with just about all of the matches here, this is just to set up whatever’s going to happen at Mania.  The crowd is screaming its head off for #KofiMania to culminate at Mania given the brilliant swerve of McMahon switching Kofi out for Kevin in this match.  It makes zero sense for Kevin to win here.  He just got back and it would be rather weird for him to win.  Further, while the promos on Smackdown Live this week were stellar from both of them, one show’s worth of them does not build fan investment.  As a match, I’m sure this’ll be good.  I’m also sure Kevin won’t win.

THE WINNAH and STILL!!! – Daniel Bryan

Duke Dre: I can’t express how happy I am that KO is replacing Kofi against Bryan this Sunday. According to rumor Owens was originally slated to face Bryan at WrestleMania for the title with Bryan vs Kofi scheduled at Fast Lane. Now it looks those plans have changed due to the WWE universe continuing to voice their support and push for #KofiMania.

With Vince seemingly changing plans I also feel like he will throw us a big swerve on Sunday during this match. I fully expect Bryan to retain which will set up Bryan/Kofi for Mania. But it happens when a fresh off his return Mustafa Ali gets involved here screwing KO this turning Ali heel. Bryan wins, KO gets screwed, Ali turns heel, Kofi remains over like rover thus we get a fatal 4 way for the title at Mania involving the 4

The Winner – Daniel Bryan

Sovereign S.A.M: I wasn’t too thrilled when Kevin Owens replaced Kofi in this match but the longer it has gone on, the more I have liked the change. Owens has looked refreshed since his return and has found a new level with this new character change. Bryan has been on fire since turning heel and being this eco-friendly champion. These two are some of the best workers in WWE so I won’t be surprised if this match can steal the show. The one interesting wrinkle to this match was the New Day announcing they would be at Fastlane. I think that will play into this match somehow and it will leave us all happy at what it could mean.

The Result: No Contest due to the New Day interfering.

Magnate Mat:  Kofi got the shaft
Kofi got the shaft
Kofi got the shaft
Kofi got the shaft
It’s nice that Kevin Owens is back, knee surgery can be tough and I hope he feels much better
Kofi got the shaft
Daniel Bryan looks like he smelled a fart

Winner – Daniel Bryan

P.S.  Kofi got the shaft

Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair

Queen KB:  I hope that this is a no DQ match of some sort, because I don’t want to see this match thrown out if Ronda gets involved. Obviously Becky has to win this one to go to WrestleMania. I’m still seething that Charlotte will be in that match at WrestleMania, though I have to keep reminding myself that one of my favorite WrestleMania matches was a Triple Threat Match that I was unhappy about until the match went down. I’m holding my feelings aside for what might happen at WrestleMania and stick to the fact that Becky has to win this match, and it could be the match of the night.

Queen’s Predicted Winner – Becky Lynch

Baron Botch:  Just like people are screaming their heads off for Kofi, they’re also doing so for The Man.  I have to say that I absolutely love that Becky’s chosen moniker is triggering people.  How stupid would The WOMAN be???  It would be completely insipid.  The Man is purely a brilliant troll move.  No clue why some can’t see that.  Oh well…

Oh, yeah, the match.  This one could really be fun.  They no likey each other and it feels like they haven’t since the stock market crash of 1929.  It really is hard for me to remember when they actually liked each other.  That, kids, is how delicious and nutritious their feud has been.  The only thing better than this feud is that between Becky and Ronnie.  Given that Becky is injured, it’ll be fun to see that woven into the storyline.  Becky is a great seller and Charlotte does sadistic well so this story will be told masterfully.  While I would really love to see Charlotte win here just so that IWC Twitter can absolutely implode (I will have popcorn ready just in case), it really wouldn’t make much sense.  They’ve been building to this three-way between Charlotte, Becky, & Ronnie (no, I won’t stop calling her that) and it’s too much fun to not give that to us at Mania.  I’d love a DQ here as there’d be another place to go storewise rather than just holding till Mania.  Oh, Ronnie?

Duke Dre: I can’t express how happy I am that KO is replacing Kofi against Bryan this Sunday. According to rumor Owens was originally slated to face Bryan at WrestleMania for the title with Bryan vs Kofi scheduled at Fast Lane. Now it looks those plans have changed due to the WWE universe continuing to voice their support and push for #KofiMania.

With Vince seemingly changing plans I also feel like he will throw us a big serve on Sunday during this match.

The Winner – Becky Lynch

Sovereign S.A.M: The set-up for this match has been very convoluted when it seemed like a simple story to tell. WWE really took the scenic route when getting to this match destination. With that out of the way, this should be a great match. Becky and Charlotte have had great matches throughout this rivalry and I expect another one here. Becky has been the most over person in wrestling and this whole story of the McMahons holding her back has helped her get even more over. Charlotte has embraced this entitled heel role and she seems to be a natural at it. I think Becky will swerve us all by showing that her knee isn’t as hurt as she has led on and Charlotte will be thrown for a loop. This is a match that I hope closes the show because this has been the main event feud for months now and deserves that spot.

The Winner: The Man Becky Lynch!!!

Magnate Mat:  The real main event on this show, THE MAN is going to snuff out the Queen, even though I feel Charlotte has finally landed the right tone with her character. THE MAN will limp or crawl her way through this match to a win, and then she will continue doing what she’s been doing since she won the Rumble, and that’s owning Ronnie.

Winner – THE MAN

The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, & Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin, & Bobby Lashley (w/ Lio Rush)

Queen KB:I really think this one is a no brainer. Reigns is back, Shield is back together (if only briefly), so they have to go over here. Ambrose and Rollins will work the majority of the match with Reigns taking the hot tag at the end to get the three. I’ll be shocked if we don’t get at least one triple bomb through a table out of this. Reigns deserves it, especially if Ambrose does leave the WWE.

Queen’s Predicted Winner – The Shield

Baron Botch:  They’ve done very little to get us invested in this one.  It’s fun to see ‘dem Shield boyz back together but beyond that, yeah, who cares, really.  I want to see Drew break out already and if they’re going to something big with Bobby, it needs to happen sooner than later.  He’s not getting any younger so it’s time to pull the trigger if it’s going to happen.  I think Lio will stick his nose into this too – possibly creating more issues for Bobby and he if he loses the match for them.  Somehow, Baron Corbin has managed to avoid obsolescence following his run as acting Raw general manager and I’m happy for him.  He’s so completely hate-able and that’s what’s doing it.

Who wins?  Does it matter?  Not to me.  That said, they wouldn’t bring The Shield back together just to lose here.  What sense would that make?

THE WINNAH – The Shield

Duke Dre: I’m so glad that I finally get to write about Roman wrestling in the squared circle again so soon. His return as been nothing short of inspiring and uplifting. Just wanted to get that out of the way before I moved on to my prediction for this match.

Now as far as this match goes, two scenarios keep popping up in my head. 1. Ambrose really is leaving the company in April and this is WWE’s last chance to capitalize on The Shield so they win or 2. Ambrose leaving is one big work and he screws Seth and Roman over on Sunday setting up a Roman/Dean match for Mania. It’s a really tough call for me to make so I flipped a coin and it landed on Option 1. The Shield win. Here’s to hoping though that Dean has a change of heart and decides not to resign though.

The Winner – The Shield

Sovereign S.A.M:  I don’t think many of us saw that we would see Roman Reigns in a WWE ring this soon after he announced his leukemia came back. This is really a perfect match type for him to come back with because he won’t have to carry the load and it could be less taxing on his body. I have continued to say that Seth is the best worker in WWE right now and I think he will be the MVP of this match. If Dean is indeed leaving WWE, it is nice that we get to see the Shield one last time before he leaves. Corbin, McIntyre and Lashley have really gelled well since they teamed back up and they look like a dominant heel trio. I think Lio Rush will play a role somehow in the finish of this match and continue the story between him and Lashley.

The Winners: The Shield!

Magnate Mat:

On a card filled with filler matches, this is the filler-iest of them all. It’s good that Roman Reigns is back and healthy, but Dean Ambrose is on his way out, and Seth Rollins doesn’t need The Shield anymore. Rollins is facing Lesnar at WrestleMania and will most likely become the new Universal Champion. Drew McIntyre is going to be a huge star, but he has to carry Baron Boring and ugggggghhhhh Lashley for what will probably be an entertaining but ultimately unnecessary 6 man tag

Winner – The Shield

Smackdown Women’s Championship Match:  Asuka (c) vs. Mandy Rose

Queen KB:  Someone is stuck in the past and only sees blondes getting over, even though Asuka is one of the best wrestlers in the company. I love how much Mandy has grown in the ring, and on mic, but she’s not ready to be a champion. Then again, I said that about Carmella and she proved me wrong in a huge way. Well, the booking of their feud sucked, but Carmella’s ring work improved by leaps and bounds. That being said, I hope this is a one and done and we don’t have to deal with it again at WrestleMania. There is no reason Mandy should win the strap this early in her career. She’s not ready to hold gold at this point, though the way she’s been going, she will get there.

Queen’s Predicted Winner – Asuka

Baron Botch:  Oh, look, another one they haven’t built.  I like to call this the “Let’s trigger the IWC” match.  The “Diva” vs. Asuka.  Gotta love those poor triggered souls, right?  Any hint of “Diva” and their faces contort like they’ve got “bitter beer face”.  Asuka attacked Mandy tonight after her quick win over Naomi (!) but that’s been it.  If Mandy ends up beating Asuka, IWC Twitter will riot.  While that would be fun (it is always fun), it would be somewhat nonsensical here – at least right now.  So…

THE WINNAH and STILL!!! – Asuka

Duke Dre:  I really feel bad for Asuka, coming off the biggest win of her career against Becky just over a month ago she’s been booked like a complete afterthought and is still taking a backseat to the likes of Becky and Charlotte who are getting more airtime on SD even though they’re chasing after the RAW’s women title.

I’m fine with Mandy challenging for the title in all honestly, creative has done a decent enough job building her up the past couple months ago as the entitled mean girl who will do whatever it takes to get what she wants. Unfortunately, this feud between Asuka and Mandy has been rushed. Mandy beat Asuka on SD a few weeks ago but Asuka will redeem herself here. Asuka retains.

The Winner – Asuka

Sovereign S.A.M:  I honestly do not know what to expect from this match. Mandy has shown she can rise to the occasion when put on a big stage from her prior matches inside the Elimination Chamber. Asuka is certainly someone that can guide Mandy if she struggles at any point during the match. I really have lower expectations for this match because I just haven’t been into this since it was announced. It is sad to say that I feel like Asuka’s first title reign has been fairly unmemorable and that is one WWE, not her.

The Winner and Still Smackdown Women’s Champion –  Asuka

Magnate Mat:  The WWE clearly has plans for Mandy Rose, unfortunately Asuka might put a boot upside her head and derail said plans. Asuka hasn’t done much since winning the title, but as we head into Mania season, hopefully this will change. Rose has improved in the ring noticeably and I’d hope for a decent contest.

Winner – Mandy Rose by DQ, Asuka retains

Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match: The Best Tag Team in the World (Shane McMahon & The Miz) vs. The Usos (Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso)

Queen KB:  I really thought we’d be seeing more angst and issues between Shane and Miz by now, but I’m all good that we haven’t yet as that was a great promo from the Usos and World’s Besties on this past SD. I’m loving how great the slow burn has been here, and the Usos have really been giving us great mic. With how they’ve pushed, that Miz’s father will be there to watch the show, I’m expecting Shane and Miz to not win this and have some sort of major issue that will split them as we head toward WrestleMania. I’m thinking that Mr. Miz will get involved to help and cost them the match. From there the rift will grow, giving us another McMahon taking up ring time at WrestleMania.

Queen’s Predicted Winner – Usos

Baron Botch:  So…the rematch clause is dead and gone b-b-b-b-b-b-b-but Shane can bend the rules so that we get one anyway?  Loverly.  All of these guys can work for sure so this should be a fun match.  Do I care about the outcome.  Nein!  Maybe the outcome can break up Shane & The Miz.  That was fun for a second but that storyline has a finite life span…just like the dearly-departed B-Team.

THE WINNAH and STILL!!! – The Usos

Duke Dre: The story telling with Miz and Shane continues to be exceptional. The dialogue has been fantastic and even the Usos have been great. I get the feeling that this may be the last that we see of “The Best Tag Team” though. I know I know, just a few weeks ago I over confidently picked Miz and Shane to retain against The Usos at Elimination Chamber but I’m almost certain  in my selection this time though *fingers crossed*.

The Usos retain and soon after Miz reveals that he’s been setting up Shane this whole time to exact revenge on him for stealing his spotlight and trophy in Saudi Arabia late last year.

The Winner – The Usos

Sovereign S.A.M:  I don’t know what to expect from this match that I didn’t see from their first encounter. I think the crowd will be hot for the Miz and that will add to the story told in this match. The Usos have done just about everything in the company but even I was shocked that they won the titles last month. As far as the match quality goes, this will probably just fun with not too much technical wrestling. I think this could very well be the last time we see the Miz and Shane team up, but I don’t have an idea who will turn on who.

The Winners and Still Smackdown Tag Team Champions – The Usos!

Magnate Mat:  The Usos are mainstays in the WWE tag division and are very good at what they do. As ridiculous as it seems, Miz and Shane seem to be a very good tag team, along with Miz’ daddy issues it adds to their dynamic. The Usos will retain but the bigger story here is the inevitable break up of Miz and Shane, who does what to whom and whose gonna be the “bad guy” here?

Winner: The Usos

Womens’ Tag Team Championship Match: The Boss N’ Hug Connection (Sasha Banks & Bayley) vs. The Samoan Slaughterhouse (Nia Jax & Tamina)

Queen KB:  While I think it’s too early for Sasha and Bayley to drop the straps, that they both won their singles matches recently makes me worry that they might lose to Samoan Slaughterhouse. It might be an old school way of looking at things, but if you win going home to a PPV, then you lose at the PPV. It doesn’t always happen, but happens enough that it is a pattern. I’m not sure how Bayley and Sasha will win this one, but they need to retain going into WrestleMania.

Queen’s Predicted Winner – The Boss N’ Hug Connection

Baron Botch:  Nia Jax & Tamina have got to have the dumbest tag team name ever.  Wow.  Okay, the match.  This should be good.  This will, of course, be about size vs. technical ability.  This is the very first title defense for Sasha & Bayley and I sincerely hope they manage to win.  Sasha has never had a successful title defense so I’m thinking this will be her first.  They need to get a rhythm going with these new belts and giving them a win here would help there.

THE WINNAH and STILL!!! – The Boss N’ Hug Connection

Duke Dre:  Tamina and Nia Jax we’re clearly the logical first choice for Bayley and Sasha to defend their titles against. I don’t envision a title switch happening so soon either. I feel like a bigger more marquee match up for The Boss N Hug connection is just around the corner *cough cough Lita and Trish* so for that reason also I think Sasha and Bayley retain

The Winner – The Boss “N’ Hug Connection

Sovereign S.A.M:  Nia and Tamina are really the only legitimate challengers for the women’s tag titles right now so this match makes sense. Sasha and Bayley have seemed rejuvenated since they won the titles and that is a refreshing sight to see. I think they were the right team to be the inaugural champions because the fans are fully behind them right now. I think this will be a fun match and the team of Nia and Tamina will try to use their size to dictate how the match will go. I think a title change this early into the reign would be a bad call, so I feel like this is a predictable outcome.

The Winners and Still Women’s Tag Team Champions – Sasha Banks & Bayley!!

Magnate Mat:  We are in new territory with Bayley and Sasha having won the inaugural Womens Tag Titles. The match at EC was a lot better than people were expecting and I hope the WWE lets the women cut loose in their tag division. A match against hard hitters like Nia and Tamina could be a kickoff to a great division, especially considering those titles will be defended across RAW, SmackDown, and NXT.

Winners: Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection

Raw Tag Team Championship Match: The Revival (Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson) vs. Aleister Black & Ricochet vs. Bobby Roode & Chad Gable

Queen KB:  I’m actually excited about this match. I’ve not liked Revival from the start. They have never really impressed me. Yes, some of their ring work was good, but without personality or any reason to care about them. They’ve had their run with the belts, I’m bored, time to move on. I’ve actually enjoyed Roode and Gable together, when they are given the time to show personality on TV. You’d think with a three hour show they could squeeze these two in there somewhere. Anyway, with the way things have been going with Ricochet and Black, I’m going with them to win this one. I don’t know what the long-term plan for Black and Ricochet might be, or if there even is a plan for them going forward!

Queen’s Predicted Winner – Aleister Black & Ricochet

Baron Botch:  Really, the only team of interest for me is Aleister & Ricochet.  For whatever reason, they’ve been booked to team together and Aleister’s dark character has been nearly abandoned.  We only see it in his entrance.  Otherwise, he’s just an average joe now.  It’s like the writers on the main roster don’t watch NXT.  Still, they are on TV (a lot) and they are being booked strong.  That strength may make something interesting happen here.  Roode & Gable are nowhere at the moment and while Dawson & Wilder have the belts, does anyone really care that they do?

THE WINNAH and NEW!!! – Aleister Black & Ricochet

Duke Dre:  This is gonna be a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to the fact that all six of these guys will get plenty of time to showcase how talented they are. RAW’s Tag division has been on a downward spiral for most of the past 12 months but since the McMahons declared a couple months back they they would work harder at delivering a better product to the fans, we’ve seen renewed focus on the RAW’s tag division.

The Revival have been eating a lot of pins lately since they win the belts so they are overdue for a big win and I think they get it on Sunday in very very highly entertaining match.

The Winner – The Revival

Sovereign S.A.M:  This match really came out of nowhere for me but should be a fun one considering all the participants. On the latest episode of Raw, it looked like we may be getting close to seeing a heel Bobby Roode with Chad Gable. I know that is wishful thinking at this point, but this feels like the closest we have come to that. Ricochet and Black are phenomenal, and it hasn’t taken them long to click with one another as a team. The Revival are one of the best tag teams in the world and I hope this match allows them to show that to the masses. I really expect a high paced match here that will have some amazing spots done by Ricochet.

The Winners and Still Raw Tag Team Champions: The Revival!

Magnate Mat:  So the RAW tag team division has been on life support. That being said two of these teams seem so random. Bobby Roode and Chad Gable got tossed together and Ricochet and Black are known as singles stars. Little known fact (if you don’t watch TNA/Impact is that Bobby Roode has done his best stuff as a tag team wrestler). The Revival are The Revival, you get what it says on the tin. Black and Ricochet are exciting and this match might not totally be a snoozer.

Winner: The Revival

Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade (w/ Zelina Vega)

Queen KB:  This is another match that should be stellar. These two have been killing it in the ring lately. Grooming Andrade to be the ‘next Rey Mysterio’ annoys me as he should be the best Andrade that he should be, but that’s how Vince McMahon thinks, and why he’s trying to push Andrade the way he has. Obviously ADR didn’t do the job McMahon wanted him to. The original Sin Cara was a pansy. Sin Cara is actually a lot better than he’s been booked to be, but he’s no Rey. Kalisto is wonderful all the way around, but for some reason McMahon doesn’t want to push him in that role. I wasn’t big on Andrade because he has no personality outside the ring, but his ring work and the way he emotes in there has brought me around. I do think he has what it takes, as does Zelina. I see Zelina helping Andrade win this one, leading to them facing off one-on-one at WrestleMania with Zelina barred from ringside.

Queen’s Predicted Winner – Andrade

Baron Botch:  This match makes total sense on the kick-off.  I’m not invested the least bit in the outcome but they’ll put on one heck of a show.  They’ll do it so well, in fact, that whatever follows them had better bring it.  This’ll get the crowd into things nicely – even if the rest of the show is a snoozefest.  I love how they’re weaving Latino Heat into this.  They did some of that on Smackdown Live! this week and I really liked it.  It’s given Andrade some much-needed attitude.  Andrade is the only one with anything to gain winning here.

THE WINNAH  – Andrade

Duke Dre: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

That’s the only way one can truly describe when these two are in the ring together. I can watch these guy wrestle each other all day and all night. It’s unfortunate this will get stuck on the pre-show though. I feel like Asuka/Mandy or The RAW Triple Threat Tag Match should be in this spot instead but what can I do. Anyhow, I except some interference from Ms. Vega here. Andrade wins via a little outside assist.

The Winner – Andrade

Sovereign S.A.M:  I have loved this rivalry right from the start and the matches have been incredible. It is a shame that this match is relegated to the kickoff, but I expect both men to bring it. Rey has looked incredible since returning to the company and it really is amazing how well he moves at his age. Andrade is a future world champion and this rivalry has helped build him into a big deal in the company. We all know that WWE have been looking for the heir to Rey and Andrade is the person who can carry that torch for the Mexican audience. This should be a great match and I hope they can stretch this out to Wrestlemania and they give them a chance to have a real passing of the torch match.

The Winner: Andrade!

Magnate Mat:  One of the lesser heard of feuds on SmackDown, but most likely the WWEs way of figuring out who is the superstar they need to capture that Spanish speaking demographic for the foreseeable future. Rey is a surefire HOFer and Andrade is most likely the future. Their encounters to date have been good to great and even though it is on the preshow, expect another good to great contest

Winner: Andrade
