In a signing that has been long rumored, WWE announced today the signing former New Japan Pro Wrestling star KUSHIDA.
KUSHIDA is a former six-time IWGP Jr. Heavyweight champ, has won the Best of the Super Juniors tournament twice, and the Super-J Cup once. In the United States, he was Ring of Honor Television champ for a few months back in 2017. He also worked as part of a popular tag team Time Splitters with Alex Shelley on both sides of the Pacific.
It is worth noting that he’s being introduced as a member of the NXT roster and not 205 Live. You can see the announcement in the Tweet below.

S.A.M.’s Spiel: This is not a surprise as KUSHIDA has been on WWE’s radar for some time now. He is stellar in the ring and it will be curious to see how he translates to NXT. I have no doubt that he will be pushed rather early and I hope he finds success in WWE.
