Impact Wrestling has signed Willie Mack to a multi-year contract.
When talking about his new deal and said he wanted to wrestle for Impact full-time because “they have the best talent in the world.”
The wrestler says he’s still able to work at various independent promotions under the terms of his new deal, but his priority is winning gold in Impact.
“My goals are just to have fun, do my thing and wrestle,” he explained. “Of course I want to be the X-Division champion, but I want to be heavyweight champion and tag team.”
Willie was recently reported to have still been under contract with Lucha Underground. It’s unclear if that’s still the case now that he’s signed a deal with Impact, who have a partnership with AAA and feature multiple wrestlers from Lucha Underground.
Recently, AAA owner and Lucha Underground financier threatened Ring Of Honor and the NWA with cease and desist orders for booking Lucha Underground stars like Willie Mack.
Mack works for ROH here and there and is the current NWA National Champion. So it will be interesting how that situation will be resolved.
Sir Mitch Says: Anthem Entertainment must be throwing decent money at Impact Wrestling to re-sign all these talented people because, quite frankly, these talents have better options available to them.
