Former WCW/AAA/CMLL wrestler César Cuauhtémoc González Barrón, best known as Silver King and Black Tiger III, has died. He was wrestling former WCW wrestler Juventud Guerrera in a match in London. It is believed that he suffered a stroke in the ring and passed away. There are pictures but we’ll refrain from posting them. If you wish to see them, they’re all over Twitter now. He was just 51 years-old.
Silver King was also the masked villain, Ramses, in the movie “Nacho Libre” opposite Jack Black in 2006.
Tributes have begun pouring in from wrestlers. Here are a few:
The news of Silver King’s passing hits me hard. I was lucky to be able to tour & work New Japan with him. Such a great person. Rest In Peace, good sir.#RIPSilverKing

(Taya’s words translated: I’m out of words. You were my first teacher coming to Mexico I have you in my prayers.)
Botch Take: I can’t begin to comprehend the horror, really. I can’t begin to imagine how Juve and the fans in attendance at the event must be feeling. Fellow writer Sam mentioned Dr. Wagner, Jr., Silver King’s brother, in our backstage area. It goes without saying that all of us at Wrestle Royalty feel for him, the rest of his family, and his many friends at this tragic time.
