The ratings are in from Wednesday night and AEW topped NXT once again but AEW saw a dip from last week, while NXT saw a rise.
Wednesday’s Dynamite episode drew 819,000 viewers on TNT, while NXT drew 669,000 viewers on the USA Network, according to Showbuzz Daily. AEW ranked #23 in the Cable Top 150, while NXT ranked #56. AEW ranked #71 in viewership, tied with Live PD, while NXT ranked #78 in viewership.
Last week’s Dynamite episode drew 932,000 viewers and ranked #20 in the Cable Top 150, and #65 in viewership. Last week’s NXT episode drew 542,000 viewers and ranked #81 in the Cable Top 150, and #85 in viewership.
AEW drew a 0.34 rating in the 18-49 demographic while NXT drew a 0.20 in the same demo this week. Last week’s AEW show drew a 0.35 rating while the NXT episode drew a 0.16 in that demographic.
S.A.M.’s Spiel: It does not surprise me that the ratings are what they are right now. People may be forced to stay home, but the empty arenas and coverage of Covid-19 are reasons why the ratings are fluctuating the way they are. NXT did see a jump from the ratings from last week while AEW saw a dip, so that should not be lost on anybody. We should all just enjoy the fact that both companies are trying to give us a product in these uncertain times.
