WWE SummerSlam – Predictions

The second night of a huge weekend is nearly upon us, SummerSlam considered a top 4 PPV if not second only to WrestleMania. Now in the new ThunderDome we are sure to have a much more spectacle show than we did at WrestleMania. The most important thing is, who do we think will come out as winners? Well let’s find out!

Queen

I’m excited for this match.  These two teams have been going back and forth for a while now and I don’t see it ending any time soon.  I am hoping that there will be more work between Zelina and Bianca in coming weeks, adding to the feud between the teams.  As great as it’s been going, I don’t think it’s yet time for the straps to be moved.  I think this is another step in them continuing to an even bigger match between them.  Three on three in HIAC?  That would be an amazing match, and I hope it’s more than just a pipedream.

Winners – Street Profits

Sam

This match has been brewing for some time and has had plenty of time to let the story build on Raw. It was revealed that Zelina Vega was the one to poison Montez and that has added a bit of fuel to this feud. I have no doubt this will be a solid match and I wonder if this will get bumped to the kickoff, because tag matches have a tendency to be on the kickoff for pay-per-views. I do have an idea on who I think will win and it may come down to what kind of shenanigans happen. I am sure Zelina will get involved and that will cause Bianca Belair to get involved as well. I think that will be the deciding factor in this match and I think I know the team that will take advantage of it.

The Winners and NEW Raw Tag Team Champions: Andrade & Angel Garza

Botch

They’ve certainly built THIS well.  They’ve even built poisoning into it!  Was the match that revealed the poisoning implausible?  Yeah, you could drive a truck through the plot holes.  Still, I’m all for the end result which is the beauty we’ll get from this match.  Montez is an absolute star and Angelo has become more than I thought he could be.  I feared he’d be overshadowed and that hasn’t happened.  Far from it, he’s blossomed into his own thing and I really like it.  Of the two on the opposing side, Angel is the most interesting by a nautical mile.  Andrade just kinda disappears when Angel is there.  Zelina is just incredible and always has been – even before she touched down on WWE’s shores.  Of course, Bianca will get involved here in some way and I am totally here for it.  Who wins?  Of course, it’s the team that wants ALL the smoke!

THE WINNAHS:  The Street Profits

Lewis

I am so ready for this match. While this is nowhere near the heights of the Street Profit’s feud with The Viking Raiders, it’s still been highly interesting. I felt the poisoning was a bit pointless, especially when they tried to play the ‘it wasn’t me’ game, it was always going to be them and didn’t really add much to the feud, other than Angelo really getting time to shine. I expect this to be fast paced and highly exciting, with outside interference with Zelina Vega and Binaca Belair, but can the Street Profits keep a hold of those titles by the end of the match? I don’t see this feud ending so soon, and the best way to keep the feud going is to crown new champs.

Winners: Andrade & Angel Garza

Jason

This will be an excellent tag team match that will be physical. Andrade and Angel have a lot to gain in this match by showcasing their talent. At the end of the match, we will have new Raw Tag Team Champions.

Winners: Andrade and Angel Garza

Oscar

Well there was poison involved in this feud and I wouldn’t be surprised if other crazy things happen. The Street Profits are so fun to watch, they are the perfect combination of fun and athleticism. Garza and Andrade are lost in the WWE world. I was once hopeful for Andrade, but he hasn’t been able to break the language barrier. Garza has been labeled the next Eddie Guerrero, but to me that’s a little too much of a compliment for Garza. Eddie was one of the best wrestlers ever, but I digress! The wrestling ability will be in the ring Sunday night. Will they be able to put that together in the ring… probably not! I’m here for all heels to take the gold on Sunday.

Winner and new Raw Tag Team Champions: Andrade & Angel Garza

Eleazar

They have been doing a great job with the build of this match and adding an element of telenovela with the story. I love how they incorporated Belair into the story as a buffer to Zelina and her interference.

Winners: The Street Profits

Natalie

This will be a very interesting match with some infighting (Andrade and Garza), Zelina will try to involve herself. However, Bianca Belair will step in and beat the tar out of her for attempting to hurt her husband again. I am very much looking forward to this match and seeing the Street Profits win.

It seems almost foretold that the superstar of 2020 will win this, but I hope he doesn’t.  It will truly be a travesty if Drew drops the strap before he can defend it in front of a live audience.  That being said, he could hold the strap for another year and still never be in a full auditorium.  I hope it goes into his contract that he’s promised another top run when fans are allowed back in the arena.  I’m really torn as to who to go with, but I’m sticking with Drew as I’d rather be wrong than pick Orton, no matter how great he’s been this year.

Winner – Drew McIntyre

Sam

This match has had such a lovely build and has been my favorite one so far in Drew’s tenure as WWE Champion. Both men have finishers that can be hit from out of nowhere and that totally adds to the suspense of this match. Drew has had a great year and oozes everything you want in a champion. Orton has found his groove again and he is my pick for wrestler of the year for 2020, and I do not think it is even close. The man has nailed it with his matches, promos and character work throughout this year. This is the Orton that gives 100% and I have loved every minute of it. Drew has been able to hang with Orton as well in the promo and character department as well throughout this feud. This is the match I feel could be one of the best of the night and that is because both men have been doing stellar work in 2020. Plus, there is also the chance that Retribution gets involved since Drew was so gung-ho about taking it to them so this could be their way of getting to him. I will just go with who I think should win this match right now.

The Winner and NEW WWE Champion: Randy Orton

Botch

Randy is absolutely on fire lately.  This version of Randy is the best version we’ve ever seen, IMHO.  His interaction with Ric Flair is the best I’ve ever seen Flair too.  Shawn Michael’s interaction left a little to be desired (mostly that Shawn all but “no sold” the RKO and the punt) but Randy has no apologies to make.  This is the “legend killer” version of Randy and he’s been positively sadistic in a way that we haven’t seen in years.  Drew is on a hot streak here too and he’s better than he’s ever been.  We’re going to get two people who are at the top of their respective games and this should make for one heck of a match.  As for who wins, all that Randy has done is deserving of another run, of course, but what would it mean for Drew to beat him?  I kinda like that idea better.

THE WINNAH:  Drew McIntyre

Lewis

We all saw this match coming a long way away, and how amazing has this build up been so far? I didn’t quite understand why Seth chastised Drew for allowing Orton to take out Ric Flair, but everything else has been spot on. 2020 has been a weird year and seen certain superstars find their mojo, and Orton is one of them. Orton has been nothing but fire and I don’t expect him to slow down here. Drew’s had a good run as champ but it’s not been quite what is could’ve been without the fans to build him up. I do think his run is coming to an end and the era of Randy Orton 14th reign starts tonight.

Winner: Randy Orton

Jason

There has been a lot of tension building between these two over the past few weeks. Orton has redeveloped into his Legend Killer phase and seems intent on being unable to be stopped. Drew wants to put Randy out of his misery. This will be physical, and it will be intense. Unfortunately for many, Orton gets his 14th WWE Title win here. This puts him in a tie with Triple H with 14 Title wins, which leads to a long road of events and a match at WrestleMania next year for the tie-breaker.

Winner: Randy Orton

Oscar

I grew up with Randy Orton. The dude seems to have been in WWE longer then I have been alive. He has found the fountain of youth and he has helped Drew engage in what is the biggest match of his title reign. Randy has always been the ultimate heel. He doesn’t care who he has to hurt on the way to capture gold. The turn on Ric Flair was gold. You ether hate Randy or you love him. I forget how good the dude is in and out of the ring. For Drew another chance to prove himself. The chosen one has held the title longer than I expected. I’m crossing my fingers for a good match, but more than anything a shocking ending. “Brock Lesnar is here….The Beast has return”…. something like that. Randy is looking to punt Drew’s head out the Thunderdome.

Winner and new WWE Champion: Randy Orton

Eleazar

This match is going to be a mental and physical match as both are really great in ring and they are really killing it on the mic and in the ring. I cannot wait for this match to see what might happen. I wonder who is going to interfere in the match Retribution or Flair.

Winner and new WWE champion: Randy Orton

Natalie

Randy is slime. While he is doing great right now and this is proving to be one of his best years, he is not worth the time of day in my humble opinion. Drew McIntyre is a very good, solid wrestler (not to mention he’s dead sexy) he’s good on the mic and he is on fire! He is going to plant his boot in Randy’s face and come close to taking it off his shoulders.

I have a gut feeling this is going to be a mess, but I’m not yet sure why.  It’s either the banned members of Hurt Business, RETRIBUTION, Ninjas, or maybe even Cedric turning heel and taking out Crews for MVP.  I know MVP is great at making excuses for why he keeps losing, but I think it’s time for a zinger, and Ced turning heel (which his wife really wants him to and posts about it on Twitter) would be the best zinger in my book!

Winner & New US Champion – MVP

Sam

I have enjoyed the build for this for the most part and do expect a somewhat solid match. MVP has slowed down a bit, but he will be sharing the ring with a top wrestler in Apollo Crews. It is also interesting to note that Lashley and Shelton have been banned from ringside. Usually the ban doesn’t work or someone new comes into the fold. I am thinking the latter will happen and that it will be a new member of the Hurt Business. As for who that will be, I am thinking that this is when Cedric Alexander turns heel and joins the Hurt Business and is the reason Apollo loses here. I think it would be the best thing for this story and will add plenty to it.

The Winner and NEW US Champion: MVP

Botch

Look at Apollo soar, will you!  I couldn’t be happier for him.  He got pushed out of the clear blue (apparently, Paul Heyman was behind it) and now that he’s gone, WWE has continued the push.  Word is MVP has been working with Apollo and you can definitely tell.  Apollo’s promos have so much more fire behind them than they used to.  MVP has become just amazing slime (he was great on Raw Talk this past week if you haven’t seen it) and this match should be good for sure.  The narrative that gets us here is the kind of slimy heel POV that we get from time to time but MVP has really pulled it off well.  To further tell the story, I’m sure we’ll get some interference from Benjamin and Lashley too.  I would absolutely love to see Apollo decisively take MVP yet again and shut him up.  There’s also little reason for MVP to be winning titles at this point so…

THE WINNAH:  Apollo Crews

Lewis

Back when this was supposed to be at Extreme Rules I had MVP to win, and as we know when Apollo Crews finally returned, MVP lost. Will that be the cast again? I’m a creature of habit so I’m going with MVP again. I think MVP will finally get his win, but with outside help (because when does being banned from ringside ever work?), and moves this feud into phase two.

Winner: MVP

Jason

MVP is fresh off a hot new multi-year deal in WWE and Apollo is no stranger to the ring in WWE. With MVP inking his deal, he wins the title and this sets up a feud between the two, which eventually ends with Apollo joining the Hurt Business.

Winner: MVP

Oscar

There is no question about it; Apollo is one of the most athletic wrestlers in WWE. His persona isn’t on par with his athleticism, as he lacks mic skills and overall personality. The promos and drama has been carried by The Hurt Business; I applaud what WWE has done with the HB. Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley will be banned from ringside… I really don’t think that stipulation will stop them from being involved, MVP always finds a way. No matter what, the US Championship has lost all credibility, I was hopeful for Andrade to take the title and have incredible matches with it, but that didn’t happen. I believe the same is happening with Apollo. I think MVP having the title gives it more spice.

Winner and new United States Championship: MVP

Eleazar

This match is going to be a good match and it might be even better then the last time as they have been growing better chemistry together. I believe that Lashley & Benjamin will interfere but would be pushed back by Ricochet & Ali, but Cedric will help MVP win the title.

Winner and new champion: MVP

Natalie

MVP is a heel, I don’t like heels, however he is fantastic on mic, I just don’t enjoy watching him wrestle. Apollo is not as good on a mic, but he is enjoyable to watch. He is more athletic than MVP and is doing rather well (ok he’s doing really well). I think that he will win only because MVP is so good at being the put upon one and will really run with losing. He won’t lose clean and he will find a way to blame someone else for the loss. It could be his cohorts Lashley and what’s-his-face (this guy is so memorable that I can’t remember his name, but he has the best looks of the three).

Winner: Apollo Crews

This is going to be savage.  Dom is less than two weeks out of the most severe beating (I hope) he’s ever had, and possibly the worst beating we’ve seen on Raw in a solid decade.  Rollins and Murphy didn’t hold back, and Dom isn’t going to be 100% for this match, but I expect him to lock all that pain away and really give everything he has in his tank for his first WWE match.  I worry that his first match is at a PPV, as that can be the kiss of death for wrestlers, but it’s not WM, and he’s a generational wrestler.

I don’t see this being pretty in any way shape or form.  Further, it won’t just be Dom and Seth in this match, Murphy and Rey will also be involved, plus possibly more depending on who WWE can pull out of the woodwork to make this match look that much bigger and more savage.  All that being said, I see this one going to Dom.  Losing in his first match, at a Big 4 PPV with his father by his side just doesn’t feel right.  As it’s no DQ, it has to come to a conclusion, so Dom needs to win this one.  No question.

Winner – Dom & Dad

Sam

Man has this feud really picked up over the last few weeks. Dominik took a beating from Seth Rollins and Murphy and that added plenty of fuel to make this into a street fight. I think a street fight is actually the best way to go, because it will help to hide any deficiencies that Dominik may have in the ring. Seth is one of the best superstars to have in the ring with Dominik because he will help guide him, so I think this has a chance to blow expectations. Since it is a street fight, I do expect plenty of shenanigans to happen in this match that probably includes Murphy and Rey Mysterio getting involved at various points. I really have had a tough time picking a winner, but I think this is one I will just have to go with my gut.

The Winner: Dominik Mysterio

Botch

The beating Dominik took last week.  I’m not sure I’ve seen anything like that before.  Here’s hoping he can get a good night’s sleep now.  I’m sure it wasn’t easy for a few days after.  This is a Street Fight thing so anything goes.  Seth quite accurately stated that Dominik would never be able to hang in an actual wrestling match.  Someday, he will but now is not that time.  I’m honestly not sure how Dominik could win this match.  It might be slightly believable give the stipulation but still, Seth has just been doing this so much longer.  I don’t see any other outcome but…

THE WINNAH:  Seth Rollins

Lewis

Just like the Adam Cole/Pat McAfee feud over on NXT, this feud has been brilliant. Not only that but it’s been one of the most brutal I’ve ever seen. Starting from the ridiculous eye gouging story with Rey Mysterio, we’ve moved on to Rey’s son as he makes his debut, and I am so excited to see what he can do in the ring. It’s a street fight, which will really help if he’s still quite green in the ring, plus you have Murphy and Rey at ringside to help out and really add an extra element to this match. I feel like Seth isn’t going to take Dominik lightly – even if he destroyed him with kendo sticks a couple weeks ago, and has something other than Murphy up his sleeve to pick up the victory.

Winner: Seth Rollins

Jason

This match will definitely be physical. With the added stipulation of it now being a street fight, definitely expect outside interference and the use of weapons. Dominik will walk away with the win for the ultimate retribution in his debut.

Winner: Dominik Mysterio

Oscar

This is the only match I’m looking forward to on Sunday Night. Dominik Mysterio was born into this business and this isn’t the first time he has been in a ring. How can we forget the custody match between Eddie and Rey?! The dude is made for this business. This has been a great story line, Seth has been Gold and Dominik is growing before our eyes and his first match will be a street fight. I don’t care who wins! Dominik will hit the 619, and then go to the top rope and hit Rollins with the Frog Splash. I will be at the edge of my seat!

Winner… who cares? But it’s heel night so Seth Rollins.

Eleazar

This is going to be a physical and gruelling match for the both of them, and I’m going to love every second of it. I wonder who is going to be punished with the Kendo stick more, Seth or Dominik, and who is going to help more Rey or Buddy. I’m watching the match for the physicality of it all.

Winner Seth Rollins

Natalie

Seth has become boring again. He is a good heel, but he’s boring. Dominik is new and could really use this win as he’s proven he is tough. Murphy will attempt to intervene but Rey (love him) will keep him out of it. This could go either way but I’m going to put my vote in for Dominik, and I look forward to seeing if I am right.

This is a tough one.  I really have to think that Bayley might try to cost Sasha her belt, whether truly on purpose or not, it will look bad for Bayley after losing her own strap to Asuka already.  That being said, I have written this four times with Asuka winning, then I scrap it all and try again.  I think it just isn’t feeling right, so I think Sasha will retain her strap, even after Bayley tries to ‘accidentally’ cost her ‘bestie’ the strap.  In the end Sasha retains, which further throws a spanner in the friendship of the Golden Role Models, making Bayley seethe with envy and hatred for her bestie.  When they lose the Tag Championship is when the feud will truly kick off and hopefully give us the greatness we’ve been waiting for a couple years now!

Winner – Sasha Banks

Sam

Like the Asuka/Bayley match, this has been built rather nicely. Asuka and Sasha have had some good encounters and I think this could be another one no matter if this does go second. I will be interested to see what role Bayley plays in this as well, because she and Sasha have shown no problems in helping the other in their big matches, so it may happen again here no matter if this goes. It is just so hard to pick this and the Bayley/Asuka match because I have no idea where WWE wants to go with the story, and I think that makes for a fun time in seeing how it unfolds. I will just go with what my head has been telling me and go with that pick.

The Winner and NEW Raw Women’s Champion: Asuka

Botch

Sasha has turned into first-class slime.  Asuka has an axe the size of a small Midwestern town to grind, and vengeance is forthcoming.  I love that Asuka is getting to face Bayley and Sasha.  Who wins?  Sasha just got the belt and while she’s thus far been known to lose that belt the first time she defends it, I think this breaks the curse…at least I hope it does.

THE WINNAH:  Sasha Banks

Lewis

Seeing this match will be after Bayley’s match with Asuka, it’s really only a question on what state will Asuka be in. The tension between Bayley and Sasha has really been amped up and you have to believe the break up is imminent, so there are a few options as to how it happens. The option I’m going for is Sasha Banks will retain the title and I’ll explain why in Bayley’s match.

Winner: Sasha Banks

Jason

Asuka has a shot to take both Titles tonight. Sasha and Bayley have demonstrated some seeds of jealousy between the two of them. I believe this will lead to their downfall and Asuka will walk away with both the Raw and SmackDown women’s titles. This will lead to a feud and split between Sasha and Bayley as they both want to become the ultimate Champion.

Winner: Asuka

Oscar

With Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair on the bench, it is up to Asuka to do the heavy lifting. I have a gut feeling Vince loves having Sasha and Bayley as champions, so the chances for Asuka on Sunday night are very slim. The whole women’s division needs some help and a hard reset. More development of talent is needed. It’s always the same usual suspects getting a chance at the titles. I’m hopeful with the return of Shayna, the addition of Bianca, and some call ups we can get back to the glory days of great women wrestling. One of the two matches for Asuka will be a short one since she’s on double duty. If this match ends with a clean pin by any of the two ladies I’ll be shocked.

Winner and still Raw Women’s Champion: Sasha Banks

Eleazar

The subtle hints at a Bayley and Sasha breakup have been fantastic. The match is going to be fire as they are great in the ring together, but seeing that this will be after the Bayley match, I think Asuka will lose.

Winner: Sasha Banks

Natalie

Sasha is a good wrestler, I like Asuka better. Sasha is good on the mic and she’s a great heel, Asuka is more fun. I think Asuka is tough enough she can beat Sasha even with interference from Bayley.

Bayley lost to Naomi and Sasha’s face was pure glee, but does that mean Bayley will lose to Asuka?  I think it might.  Not sure how it will happen, but Bayley will lose her SD Championship.  Not only will she lose it, but Sasha will look guilty of involvement of Bayley losing that belt.

Winner & New SD Champion – Asuka

Sam

So, Bayley volunteered to face Asuka first, then lost to Naomi in the beat the clock match on Smackdown to go first. These two have had great chemistry in the ring and I expect the same to happen here. It will be interesting how they book this match since Asuka will be having two title matches in one night. Bayley has also been taking a few losses of late so maybe that could be a sign that she is losing the title, or that she may break that streak with a win over Asuka here. Either way, I think the story has been told very well between Asuka, Sasha and Bayley, so this should be another good entry in their story. It is tempting to pick Asuka here and then to pick Asuka in the other title match, but I will go with the match result I feel makes the most sense to me.

The Winner and STILL Smackdown Women’s Champion: Bayley

Botch

Just like Sasha has become great slime, Bayley has too.  Word is that Vince absolutely loves her and why shouldn’t he?  She was shaky at first in her new heel role but she’s definitely warmed to it and now I can’t stand her.  Great, right?  Asuka will absolutely be looking for her pound of flesh here.  Do I think she’ll get it?  Kinda…but she won’t win…and it’ll drive her nuts.  Further, Bayley just lost to Naomi on Smackdown.  Historically, the loser comes out on top at the PPV.

THE WINNAH:  Bayley

Lewis

So why do I think Sasha will win? Because Bayley is going to lose at SummerSlam. The way this story has been building, Bayley and Sasha’s days as the Golden Role Models are numbered. Obviously they won’t be splitting up tonight, but I see it happening at Payback when Bayley costs them the Women’s Tag Team Titles, jealous that Sasha still has the Raw Women’s Title, leading to a title match in the future between these two.

Winner: Asuka

Jason

As mentioned in the Sasha Banks vs Asuka match, there’s going to be a new two belt champion.

Winner: Asuka

Oscar

One of two matches on the night for Asuka. It seems like it’s always the same 3 women in every championship storyline. There is no question that Asuka is one of the best women wrestlers in WWE. She hasn’t been able to cash in on the big matches and her title reigns are always cut short. Do I think she will win both titles tonight? Probably not! The SmackDown Championship seems like the more attainable of the two. I miss good women wrestling. I’m hopeful for a good showing from the ladies. Steal the show!

Winner and still SmackDown Women Champion Bayley

Eleazar

This match alongside the Raw Women’s match is going to be interesting as who is going to be the first to turn. If Bayley wins the match then I see Sasha losing her title but I see Bayley keeping her title with Sasha’s help. Here’s the thing: she isn’t going to return the favor and let her lose her title.

Winner and still champion Bayley

Natalie

Bayley is boring, she has been champ for far too long and please someone teach this woman how to dress! Asuka is a very good wrestler and really tough. Asuka can take both Bayley and Sasha on (you know she will intervene). Personally, I want Asuka to win, but only if she wins against Sasha as well (I do not want to lose her to Smackdown, I like watching her wrestle too much for that) and I hope she becomes Asuka two belts!

THIS should be an amazing match.  It could easily steal the show, if booked well.  There was little from Nikki and nothing from Bliss, but I truly think they will both be involved in some way, and one of them might cost Braun his Championship.  The big question is which of them will do so?  Rather than flipping a coin I asked Stacy to pick one, and he went with Nikki joining The Fiend and costing Braun his championship.  I will be shocked if both women don’t get involved in some way, but I think Nikki will be joining The Fiend in some way and really going off her rocker as only Nikki Cross can.

Winner & New Universal Championship – The Fiend

Sam

This feud has really picked up and has rivalled how good the McIntyre/Orton feud has been. Braun seems to be more of the heel and the Fiend feels more like the face of late. I really do not know what to expect match wise and totally imagine this will be more about the story rather than the actual in-ring work. This is a match I will want to sit back and watch because of how good the story has been prior to this. It is also interesting that Alexa Bliss was nowhere to be seen during the go-home episode and I have a feeling she will make an appearance during this match. I feel like she will come out with the assumption she is there to help Braun, but she will in fact be there to help the Fiend and she will be the deciding factor in the match. Keeping that in mind, it does kind of show where I am leaning with this match.

The Winner and NEW Universal Champion: “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt

Botch

I remember Christian and Booker arguing about the beginning of this feud on “WWE Backstage” (remember that relic?).  Christian always said that they were taking that feud far too fast and it should stretch out while Booker felt the opposite.  Booker, as has been his custom lately, was completely wrong.  By really stretching this out, they’ve allowed the hunted to become the hunter.  Braun has changed as a character and a lot of work has gone into this story.  They’ve even gotten Alexa involved.  I think she’ll get involved here too.  They even just had Braun do the unthinkable to Bray backstage.  Who wins?  I think Alexa makes sure Braun loses.

THE WINNAH:  The Fiend

Lewis

When Roman Reigns dropped out of WrestleMania and Braun ended up taking the title, it was clear WWE were in panic mode to build him up and it was obvious they failed. That was until Bray Wyatt and Braun went one on one at Money in the Bank, since then the feud has been nothing short of fantastic. I still stand by the fact the Swamp Fight was awful. It was great to build the story up, but made no sense as a main event. Anyway, since Braun has come back with his new attitude and bald look, this feud has hit a new level and I can’t wait to see what these two come up with at SummerSlam. I can almost guarantee Alexa Bliss will appear in some form and maybe Nikki Cross too. While I don’t to see either eating a loss, I think we’re going to have a new champion tonight.

Winner: “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt

Jason

Is Braun face or heel? Is Wyatt face or heel? These are two questions we have going into this match. We have definitely begun seeing a much more dangerous side of Braun again, which takes us to the Braun of old where he just wants to destroy. This should be a great match with several highlight spots. I think Braun will pull out the stops by using some of Wyatt’s “powers” and leave with the Title.

Winner: Braun Strowman

Oscar

The addition of Alexa Bliss to this feud was the smartest thing WWE did. It’s very personal for two former “Family” members. Braun finally snapped and he has been able to take it back to his days in the Wyatt Family. The Fiend is finally here to take on Braun. This should be an all out brawl. Good for Braun, he finally gets a worthy feud in what can be a show stealer. Two forces that at times seem unstoppable will collide in what will be and epic battle. Let’s hope they mix some cool cinematic effects and sprinkle some Alexa Bliss.

Winner and new Universal Champion: The Fiend

Eleazar

The way they have been building this feud this is going to be a great match. I’m going to love the match from beginning to end. The way they ended Smackdown was great and is going to play into the match.

Winner and new champion the Fiend Bray Wyatt

If this is a real match and not another one of Bray’s weird things, this will be a good match. Deep down, I honestly don’t care who wins. I like both but I think Braun should win and retain his title. Bray should move over to Monday night Raw and show Seth Rollins how to be interesting, please.

This is one of the matches on this card that has me most excited.  The character work between Sonya and Mandy has been leaps and bounds better than many of the storylines in WWE right now.  They have both built it really well, and I’m expecting this to have serious big match feel.  I’m expecting Miz and JoMo will be in Sonya’s corner, or they will get involved when they need to, the same can be said for Mandy and Heavy Machinery.  I hope the four guys end up fighting to the back, leaving the ending of this match to the women. I truly hope that this match gets the time it deserves, and that they are allowed to go all out, one on one.  In the end I’m thinking Sonya’s going to lose, but both are going to come out of this looking like top-tier superstars, as they have proven they are on mic through this build.  With it being loser leaves WWE, I think it might be good for Sonya to take some time for her own mental health.

Winner: Mandy Rose

This match just got more interesting during the go-home episode of Smackdown. Sonya has upped the ante by wanting a no disqualification, loser leaves WWE match. I do expect this to be physical and could be a nice surprise of a match. This feud has been great since Sonya turned on Mandy and Sonya has proven how much of a star she is. Mandy hasn’t been as good as Sonya during this, but she has still done well. I am intrigued by this match and I wonder if the new stipulations came about because of what happened with Sonya and her stalker that made the attempt to kidnap her. I am looking forward to this match and will pick the person I think makes the most sense at this time.

The Winner: Mandy Rose

I was kind of wondering if this was going to take place given the news we’ve been hearing lately about Mandy being with Sonya when she was being approached by the stalker.  That story broke nationally so people will know that Sonya and Mandy are really friends.  I mean…we knew anyway but we’re being confronted with it in a whole new way.  Kayfabe is broken here big time and they’ve made adjustments – namely that the loser will leave WWE.  In spite of all that’s happened, this match should be a lot of fun.  They were both playing this to the hilt and I was all in on it.  It’s definitely time for Mandy to get her comeuppance.  More to the point, Sonya’s likely gonna need a minute.

THE WINNAH:  Mandy Rose

I’ll be honest, I was more hyped for a hair vs hair match, and while I get why it’s been changed to a no DQ, loser leaves WWE match, I’m just not as excited for it. The stipulation with someone losing their hair would’ve had a much bigger impact. With the loser leaving WWE, you know that someone will return before long. As I said with what happened in real life (if you don’t know we have the information here and here), I get why they may have changed the stipulation, but now it just feels like a throwaway match. I really don’t feel this will be the end of the feud. There’s only one winner in my eyes, Sonya probably wants (and needs) this time off and will eat the loss.

Winner: Mandy Rose

After the events that took place this week, Mandy will go over here so Sonya can focus on the trial and recover from the incident. I do think they will make up after the match and hug it out.

I had written this amazing paragraph on the value of a hair versus hair match, and then the hair match was no more. Most of fiends here at WR think Mandy wins. I think Sonya shocks the world and pulls the upset. I was looking forward to a hair versus hair match. Now it’s just an ordinary (sort of) match that will be like 10 min long.

Winner: Sonya Deville

This match is going to be an interesting one as I don’t want to see either leaving WWE. Dang it I really hate having to pick a winner .

Winner Mandy Rose

I don’t get to see these two wrestle much, but from what I hear the feud has been going great. I’ve been a fan of Sonya’s for awhile, although I didn’t like Mandy much. Since Sonya has turned on Mandy, I’ve grown to like both of them more. I want Sonya to lose only because this could bring out the dark side that is just hiding below the surface to the forefront and I would actually watch Smackdown more if this were to happen. Seeing as it’s now a loser leaves WWE, I don’t want to see either lose so…

Winner: No one – ends in a no contest
