AEW All Out 2020 – Predictions

Is everyone ready for AEW’s biggest event of the year? Of course you are and we’re just excited! Some interesting matches are ahead, but who will win? Let’s see who we’ve picked to win, and don’t forget to vote for your winners in our poll!

Botch

This is going to be…DELICIOUS!  That it’s on the Buy In is completely and totally ridiculous, but I’ll be watching because it’s the payoff to what has been an incredibly well-built feud…involving women!  I can’t wait to see them both get in there.  Britt, while being greener than grass when she got there, now has the skills to really do this.  Swole, of course, always did so she’s more than ready.  As for the winner, I think Reba gets in the way and we get a crooked finish in Britt’s favor.

THE WINNAH!:  Britt Baker

Lewis

First things first, how can AEW justifiably shove this onto their buy in? The best feud in their women’s division by a country mile (which let’s face it, isn’t hard) and it’s being used as an afterthought of sorts. Now it’s apparently a cinematic match, which on first thought had me unhappy, as cinematic matches aren’t always my favourite. Then I thought about it and Britt is coming back from an injury, plus let’s not forget she’s still pretty green in the ring, so a cinematic match makes perfect sense to make the most out of these two. This won’t be the show stealer I want it to be, but it’s gonna be a lot of fun for certain. I don’t see this feud ending just yet and the best way to keep it going I find is to have the heel cheat her way to victory.

Winner: Britt Baker

Oscar

The build up for this match has been in the works for months. An unfortunate injury sidelined Baker in what seemed to be her big push. Baker didn’t let the injury hold her back and went on a series of promos that helped her stay relevant. The addition of Big Swole helped both of these two ladies; Swole’s big personality made for some over the top promos that I enjoyed very much. It’s time to put all that great content into a great wrestling match. Will Baker be rusty since she’s been injured for most of this feud? Swole hasn’t done much wrestling herself and is coming from a very ugly 2 on 1 handicap match. The stipulation of a tooth and nail match intrigues me, but we honestly have no idea what the match will be all about. I hope these two ladies can put on a show. Baker needs this win more than Swole. With Reba by her side Swole is in for a fight.

Winner – Dr. Britt Baker

Natalie

Britt Baker is a fantastic heel and is pure slime, while Reba is a great subservient underling. Big Swole is positively fantabulous, I love her attitude, I love her look and I love her character, she is a really good wrestler too. Britt needs the win, but nope, Big Swole is going to wipe up the floor with her as payback for the pizza in the face the other night.

These are always just kinda thrown together but this one in particular just feels like nothing.  I’m sure we’ll get some surprise entrant(s) and some fun spots, so I’ll probably enjoy it.  It’s just too difficult to predict who’ll win.  As for my pick, I’m gonna go with someone who recently debuted and who cut a totally FIRE promo when he showed up.  He’s never really gotten a shot but I think he’ll get it here…and I’m cool with it.

THE WINNAH:  Eddie Kingston

Lewis

These matches have always felt like a complete mess and I have no hope for this one either. Even though the winner gets a title shot, it always feels like what WWE does with the Andre the Giant battle royal. Last winner was Adam Page, which was not a shock, this time however I feel we’ll get a little swerve. I feel the winner isn’t currently in the list, but I feel they’ve been saving his return for this match and will draw the joker card (which means he’ll be last out).

Winner: PAC

Oscar

How do you pick a winner of a match that has 21 wrestlers in it? These matches are meant to be fun, as it’s a way to get everyone not involved in the main story lines into the show to entertain the audience. There is some smaller storylines within the match that can develop into something great. Keep an eye out for Cage and Archer.

Winner – Darby Allin

Natalie

Honestly I don’t care who wins as long as it’s not Jake Hager. My vote is TBD because in my mind it stands for To Be Determined. Yup I seriously have no interest in this match.

This is guaranteed fun and I am here for it!  We won’t get much deep storytelling here or nuance.  We’ll get incredible action and we’ll like it!  I do kinda wonder, since there’s no reason for either team to get a clean win, if something screwy won’t happen here with Page and the Bucks.  It’d be fun if it did.  Page might want some revenge for being kicked out of the Elite and this would turn him completely and utterly heel.  That said…

THE WINNAH!:  Jurassic Express via DQ

Lewis

Were we really shocked that Jurassic Express and The Young Bucks won that eight-man tag match? I mean there was no way the Young Bucks were missing All Out. That’s not saying this match isn’t going to be 5 star quality, but with no stipulation (like winner receives a title shot) and no build up to this match, I have to question the purpose of its place on the card. Anyway I digress, I think with YB’s being screwed over by Adam Page, they’ll be out for blood and we’ll see a less friendly side to them, but I see their focus being shifted costing them the victory.

Winners: Jurassic Express

Oscar

The Bucks aren’t in the best of moods after Adam Page cost them a shot at the AEW Tag Team Championships and will have to settle with Jurassic Express on Saturday night instead. On paper the athleticism and wrestling ability is all there. Will they be able to put together on Saturday night? It’s very hard to say! Jungle Boy is a young star that is being held back a bit by his label of a tag team. Luchasaurus is a big athletic guy that can put on a show. It’s very interesting what comes out of this match when we have basically two baby face teams, no real storyline or feud from the two teams. The Bucks are angry and ready prove that they should be the team to get a shot at the tag titles. There has to be more to this fight than we know, and we’re in for a surprise at All Out. There is no way this ends in a clean win.

Winners – The Young Bucks

Natalie

The Young Bucks have been doing great, but so has Jurassic Express, and honestly, I enjoy Jurassic Express more than the Young Bucks. I think “Hangman” Adam Page has something against the Young Bucks, and not just because he didn’t want to defend the title against them. He will interfere with the match and cost them this match too. Jurassic Express will win, and yes, they deserve a clean win, but this will not be the case this week.

It took a while but Dank Odor is finally starting to catch fire.  This was helped in no small way by Brodie taking the TNT title from Cody Rhodes in a really solid match.  Now, we have a solid faction that Brodie rules with an iron fist.  He will be impossible to deal with here and I can’t wait to see it go down.  One person I always enjoy is Scorpio Sky.  He’s been there from the beginning putting on clinics whenever he’s in there and he desperately needs a breakout moment in some form.  That he’s in a team with three other people shows us that this won’t be it, but he should be fun here if nothing else.  That Dustin can even go like he does at his age is just astonishing and he’s still fun to watch.  Cardona’s gonna have to do some more work to make me care.  I definitely don’t yet.  He has no character here but it’s early.  Maybe he’ll start to become one here.  Who wins?  The Nightmares et al are ad hoc and the Dank Odor could seriously use a win on a PPV to assert their dominance…and I think this’ll be it.

THE WINNAH!:  The Dank Odor!

Lewis

Another match I’m not exactly excited to see. It seems when AEW doesn’t know what to do with so much talent on their roster they bunch them all together and throw them into an eight or ten tag match. I get they’re defending Cody’s honour, but this just feels like another rushed match that better suits Dynamite than their biggest PPV of the year! The Dark Order are starting to gain some steam and Colt’s allegiance to them is still one that feels yet to have a payoff. I see this being a match that either has Colt pledge full allegiance to, or turns on them for what they did to Cody, either way I think he’s the difference maker in the match. I’m going to go with what I think will be more interesting and that’s a Colt Cabana/Brodie Lee feud.

Winners: The Natural Nightmares, Matt Cardona & Scorpio Sky

Oscar

They put the fire extinguisher on the TNT Championship. For most of the past weeks the TNT Championship has overshadowed the AEW Championship. AEW decided to throw Brodie Lee into this mix to bring him down a notch and find a decent storyline to bring a little closure to Cody being away from AEW TV. The Natural Nightmares and Matt Cardona are out to avenge the destruction of Cody. The odd man out and deserving of the spotlight is Scorpio Sky. I hope he gets the chance to challenge Brodie for the TNT Championship. The Dark Order sit strong on the throne and rule the AEW nation. Brodie Lee has shown that he is a worthy champion. I hope that this match doesn’t turn into an all-out confusing match. 8-men tag matches in AEW always find a way to get confusing and in doing that come the botches. The Dark Order and specially Brodie Lee need to continue riding this high. They are one of the best parts of AEW.

Winners – The Dark Order

Natalie

The dark order has come a long way, but they can go back where they came from. I am not a fan, and not because they are heels. I don’t like Brodie Lee and would love to either trim, if not outright shave off, that beard of his. That being said I am a long-time fan of Dustin Rhodes, Matt Cardona is really good, Scorpio Sky is fantastic and someday I might have an opinion on QT Marshall (today is not that day). Allie is an annoyance. Matt, Scorpio and the nightmares will win, but this will be a fantastic match with lots of ‘on the edge’ moments, many near falls and ultimately a pin putting the nightmares and friends on top and winning the match. Maybe Ana Jay will come out and put Allie out of our misery for the night, yeah probably a pipe dream, but it’s my dream.

So, if Hardy loses, he has to leave AEW, huh?  Well, that kinda means he ain’t losin’, right?  LOL!  I mean…  Unless, they bend the rules and allow his multifariousness to matter here, Sammy’s gonna lose.  They’ve had a couple of hard-hitting (accidentally in one case) matches but this feud hasn’t been as much fun as I’d hoped.  All the ingredients are here; it just hasn’t really caught fire like I’d hoped.  Here’s hoping this is just the beginning of it and it goes in other directions with outer pats of Matt’s persona.  Again, based on the stipulation, Sammy is the only one who can take the hit so…

THE WINNAH!:  Matt Hardy

Lewis

This was going so well then they add in ‘if Matt loses he leaves AEW’ stipulation… I mean why? He’s not even been with AEW a year so there’s no way he’s leaving. IF he does lose he’ll maybe reincarnate, or do something Matt Hardy-esk, but it’s just an unnecessary add on to this match. Out of the two of them Sammy needs this win to elevate him further and maybe pursue a TNT title shot sometime in the future. With Matt in his twilight years, just like Jericho he’s here to build stars and that is what I think will happen here. On a side note what the hell is a Broken Rules match? AEW seem to love making random stipulated matches.

Winner: Sammy Guevara

Oscar

Another weird stipulation match that we have no idea about, a broken rules match sounds like a Matt Hardy thing. This feud has run a little too long for me, especially after that brutal tables match that Sammy won. To me Matt Hardy will show up as “Broken” Matt and will lead to a different storyline that has absolutely nothing to do with Sammy. I have a strong feeling there is still some hard feeling on what Sammy was suspended for and that will keep Sammy career on hold for a while. Sammy is a very talented wrestler and is hoping to get back to the bright spotlight he was in before his time away from AEW. It’s a filler match that should be on the buy in show instead of the Britt and Swole match.

Winner – Broken Matt Hardy

Natalie

Sammy is hot right now, he’s funny too, but Matt will win. It’s a feeling.

You know I almost listed this as a joke match but decided to play nice because of this needs to be said.  Imagine, if you can, a match occurring on a pay-per-view that you expect people to pay for and you feature a TITLE match with…ZERO…build.  That’s what this match is.  AEW has given me absolutely NO reason to care about this match.  Shida can go all day and night and Thunder Rosa is good too so we’ll get a solid match for sure.  Still, there’s absolutely no conflict that created this match other than Thunder Rosa’s desire for the AEW title.  This is sadly typical of how AEW handles their women and it’s incredibly shady.  They pay no attention to them and as a result, there’s no real reason to pay attention to this match.  Since few will care, why switch the title?

THE WINNAH:  Hikaru Shida

Lewis

Both women are incredible in the ring, but that’s where it ends. The build up is non-existent and since Thunder Rosa has turned up to challenge Shida, where has the AEW Women’s Champion been? I’ve not seen her. Along with sticking the best women’s feud on the Buy In, AEW really need to sort themselves out when it comes to the women’s division. The tag tournament was a joke and the talk of introducing a tag team division makes me want to cry. Sort the division out first before you bring more titles into the mix! Anyway I don’t see Shida dropping the title to the NWA champ… Or maybe I do, I just don’t care to be honest with you. Let me flip a coin.

Winner: Hikaru Shida

Oscar

They finally decided to give the ladies a decent build. I always pick a show stealer match and this one has my seal of approval to steal the show. Above all this match needs to be great, as the women’s division has been non-existent in AEW. Going down the roster, there in no one that can carry the torch and make something of this division. Shida has showed that she can wrestle anyone across the ring for her. The language barrier holds her back and she has been working very hard on that. Thunder Rosa is more than a worthy opponent for Shida. Thunder Rosa is and will be the biggest challenger to her title. This is the smartest move that both AEW and NWA could have done. I’m crossing my fingers these two ladies can deliver a match for the ages. I want to be shocked and even if Rosa isn’t signed to AEW, why not give her the title. It benefits both companies to pull a trick out of the bag. I’m putting all my chips on the table.

Winner and new AEW Women’s Champion – Thunder Rosa

Natalie

Both women are fantastic wrestlers, Shida is great but underutilized by AEW! Thunder Rosa was a joy to watch this week, AEW please sign this woman and actually develop a women’s division that is worthy of the fantastic men’s division you have created. That said I want Thunder Rosa to win, however she is not signed to AEW (boo). However she is on loan as her current company is drumming up business in hopes of getting back on TV. I think Thunder Rosa will win but only keep the belt for a short time, because AEW neglected to really develop a woman’s division.

This one I care slightly less about, but it’ll still be a really fun match.  FTR have come to AEW and have really taken flight nicely.  They aren’t much different from whom they were in WWE, but they have one of their main inspirations in Tully Blanchard by their side now and while he’s not needed, he does provide a nice accent.  Kenny & Adam have been a fun team that isn’t really even a team.  They are two individuals who just happen to work together pretty well and have the belts.  I’d really like to begin to care about them as individual competitors and I think this is likely the match that will bring an end to the ad hoc team of Omega & Page.  Page has already been removed from the Elite and this’ll be the next step.  Now, a real team can carry the belts so…

THE WINNAH!:  FTR

Lewis

Many people expect Omega and Page to split up and Page to turn heel from this match, but I see things a little differently. Omega’s attitude has changed lately, which all started in attacking Marko Stunt after a match. Page has looked like the shadow of himself and the alcoholism has clearly gotten worse. Could this be an abusive relationship story? Maybe not, but I think Omega is about to turn heel on Page after they drop the titles to FTR. If I’m wrong then I don’t understand Omega’s new found aggression, but what’s certain is this will be a thrilling, hard-hitting affair.

Winners: FTR

Oscar

I feel a heel turn coming for Page and this is the perfect spot for it. The Bucks kicked him out of the Elite, his partner has turned his back on him, and now he is all alone. It’s the perfect time and it must be done. Page and Omega will go on a long personal feud. FTR came into AEW and has made a splash from the get go. They are stars and the addition of Tully has been perfect. Look for little hints of the Page turn during the match. I expect to have a great tag match. The AEW tag division is the best in the business and for that reason the match will be great. After that final bell rings, the fun will really start.

Winners and new AEW Tag Team Champions – FTR

Natalie

FTR are doing great and Tully is pushing them (not sure if I like that, Tully could really easily get hurt being around the ring). Kenny Omega and Adam Page are fantastic too. I would like to see more of the storyline with Adam Page and his new feud with Young Bucks. I would not be surprised if they interfered in this match and cost Adam and as a result, Kenny the match but not the belts. FTR will win the match but not the belts.

This is another feud that has just been plain fun!  Both have taken massive “L”s at one time or another and both of them have done that here in this epic “tit for tat”.  Best of all, Jericho has made a new star in Orange Cassidy.  This feud has really built Orange’s character in a spectacular way.  That this has all culminated in a “Mimosa Mayhem Match” is just hilarious.  What an obvious swipe at Vince Russo…LOL!!  I have enjoyed every second of this thoroughly and can’t wait for this match either.  As for who wins, I think it should really only go one way.  So much time has been spent building him up and it’s time to pay it off and I think it’ll happen here.

THE WINNAH!:  Orange Cassidy

Lewis

Jericho wanted to come in and create stars, and while Cassidy was over already, this feud has really developed him into much more than just a one trick pony. Along with Mox/MJF, this has been built so well and it makes complete sense to be in such a bizarre match. I don’t see the point of adding in the pinfall or submission stipulation to win when we know someone’s going in the mimosa. As much as I don’t want to see either win, I do think this will be the end of the feud. That being said I want to see this feud continue further so I think it’ll be a double mimosa with both falling in together.

Winner: Neither, double mimosa’d

Oscar

I have no idea what to expect from the Mimosa Mayhem Match. I have fried my brain trying to come up with what it will be. Luckily for me I won’t have to wait any longer, because Saturday is around the corner. I expect some over the top moments as most of the matches have been between Jericho and Cassidy. Maybe they will have a giant mimosa glass that will be used to dump your opponent. A little sad they will be wasting a giant mimosa glass. It honestly doesn’t matter because this feud has been outstanding. Cassidy has become a star and Jericho continues to be the GOAT. I’m ready to have some fun in this one. It’s hard to pick a winner on this one, but Jericho loves putting wrestlers over nowadays.

Winner Orange Cassidy

Natalie

This feud has been fantastic and just what Cassidy has needed. I love that Jericho is giving Cassidy a much-needed push. This will be an interesting match with lots of interference from Jericho’s “friends”, but Orange will persevere and win this match, it will be hard fought and really interesting but it will be the biggest win of Oranges career.

Man, the build for this has been complete and total fire!  There’s no way this could have been better.  MJF is the single best heel in all of wrestling, and Mox is totally and completely bent on destruction – especially since he now can’t use the Paradigm Shift.  The promo Mox gave in response to MJF insisting that he not use it was total fire.  “You’ve taken it and now, you’ve forced me to get creative…which is what you didn’t want”.  Paraphrasing but genius stuff.  I’m almost sad this match is happening on Saturday because it may mean an end to this delicious feud.  Here’s hoping something goes sideways and the feud has to continue.  This could be one of those Dusty/Flair feuds that will go on for a really long time, and I wouldn’t be mad at it.

Who wins?  WE do!  Okay, okay.  I’m gonna go with something screwy happening (maybe Mox forgetting not to use the Paradigm Shift) which causes the feud to continue so…

THE WINNAH!:  Jon Moxley via DQ

Lewis

For the first time in AEW history I am 100% into the title match. No offense to Cody, Jericho or Mox, but those feuds just didn’t give me goose bumps like this one does. MJF is one [if not the] best talker in wrestling right now and at just 24 is just as solid in the ring, this man is what you would call a prodigy. I fully expect this match to main even (of course) and to steal the whole damn show. Now onto the important part, who do I see walking out with the title, is it too soon for MJF to win the championship? Should Moxley win and keep his reign going? Sorry to say, but Mox’s title run hasn’t been as stellar as we’d hope, but a MJF title run could be something glorious, so I’m going with who I want to see with the gold.

Winner: MJF

Oscar

The main event of the night will be a brawl between two of the top stars in wrestling right now. There’s nothing I can tell you guys to hype this match more. This will be one of those matches where we sit back and enjoy the show. MJF will be the best slime he can be and use all the dirty tactics he can, while Mox will keep getting back up and won’t quit. There has to be some blood drawn on this one. I think it’s time for Mox to take a step back and let MJF run the show. It will be the smartest thing to do.

Winner and New AEW Champion – MJF

Natalie

If this is not the headline match it should be. On one side you have Jon Moxley, tough guy and hardcore wrestler. He is fantastic. On the other side you have the young mega-heel, MJF, and his thug Wardlow. This will be a hard fought battle with Moxley going against both MJF and Wardlow, when he can sneak a sucker punch or two in. In a perfect world Moxley would win and MJF would pout and rant and rave and draw it out for a while which would be oh so entertaining. I think I am going with a perfect world and Moxley will win……this time.
