Canadian wrestler Sunny Dhinsa, and Dutch wrestler Gzim Selmani, otherwise known as Akam and Rezar, in that order, have been released from WWE. The two of them, known as Authors of Pain, AOP, had their start in WWE in NXT, being managed by Paul Ellering. When they were brought up to Raw they won the Tag Team Championship with Drake Maverick managing them. Due to Akam’s injury they were off TV for a while. When brought back they were followers of Seth Rollins, the Monday Night Messiah, until Rezar was injured in March. That was the last we have seen of them.
WWE posted the following on their webpage:
WWE has come to terms on the release of Akam and Rezar (AOP). We wish them all the best in their future endeavors.
QD – I feel bad for both of them. They’ve been dogged by bad booking, bad luck, and injuries. Hopefully this release is right for them and they find a new home elsewhere in wrestling. It will be interesting to see where they go from here.
