It has become known that the locations WWE use for NXT, Raw, SmackDown, and 205 Live are being investigated by the State of Florida due to being deemed a hotspot for COVID-19. This follows on the heels of the recent outbreak with-in WWE in September. The following locations are included:
- Amway Center
- WWE Performance Center
- NXT Full Sail
The main purpose behind the investigation is to determine where the virus is spreading the most from within the State. A WWE Spokesperson issued the following statement upon the news:
“WWE is not open to the public, but rather operating on a closed set with only essential personnel in attendance. As part of on-going weekly testing protocols, Aventus Labs have administered more than 10,000 PCR tests to WWE performers, employees, production staff and crew resulting in only 1.5 percent positive cases as compared to the current national average of more than 5%. Additionally, extensive contact tracing takes place and impacted individuals are placed in 14-day quarantine and then only cleared after they test negative.”
It is important to note that AEW and other promotions within the State of Florida are NOT included in this investigation. WWE is among numerous bars, gyms, an Amazon Distribution Center, and apartment complexes included in the investigation. We will be monitoring for any updates.
