Due to the World Series, last week’s episode of SmackDown aired on FS1, which resulted in a huge drop in viewership due to not being as widely available. As a result, the show only drew 881k viewers, with a .25 in 18-49 demographic. To compare, the prior week saw 2.124 million with a .6 in the demographic.
However, for an apples to apples comparison, looking at last year’s SmackDown that aired on FS1, this was only a nominal drop of 7k, from 888k with a .25 in the demographic as well. WWE and FOX both anticipated the significant drop and will likely see the numbers as a success since they are historically average. SmackDown finished 15th overall in cable ratings.
