What a close match it was between Bianca Belair an Kay Lee Ray, but it was Belair who walked away with the first spot in the final. Now we’re onto the second semi-final, so let’s take a closer look at the competitors.
First and foremost I’d like to give a shout out to the Wrestle Royalty community for doing what was right by voting Naomi over Io Shirai. It’s good to know there are other wrestling fans out there that share the same viewpoint as me, and also feel that #NaomiDeservesBetter.
Now let’s get down to it, my opponent this week is Mia Yim aka Reckoning. Mia is without a doubt a talented worker whose future looks bright, but her day of reckoning is coming shortly when she has to feel the power of the glow. And while Kendra may be the queen of Wrestle Royalty she will soon find out why I’m the King.
For the semi-final, I’ve decided to choose a match that showcases not only Naomi’s God gifted athleticism, but also her ring psychology and her ability to tell a story inside the ring, Naomi vs Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown’s Women’s Title, on April 25th 2017. The chemistry between Naomi and Charlotte here was off the charts. The pace quickened and the near falls were fast and furious. The only downfall here was that this match didn’t get a clean finish due to outside interference by Tamina, Carmella & Natalya, because this one was shaping up to be a classic. Nonetheless, it showed that Naomi could hang with the very elite women’s workers of the world and left us all wanting more.
Mia Yim is one of the most well-rounded superstars who really hasn’t shown her greatness in WWE. The more of her pre-WWE matches I watch, the more I think they’re dropping the ball with her in a massive way. She can work the ring with anyone and looks great doing it. I had planned on picking an intergender match for this round of RotR, but when I found this match with Jordynne Grace I knew it was the right one for me. Both women are great in this match, and I have to give them both props for how hard they worked in that ring – though it was kind of two matches in one. I loved the sportsmanship between these two women before the match started and after it ended. It was lovely.
To me Mia Yim is one of the best superstars on the WWE roster, but to only watch her in WWE is a tiny part of her story. When you have time you should go watch Mia Yim versus Eddie Kingston versus Matt Riddle, and versus her love Keith Lee. She isn’t afraid of anything in that ring and her work is always a thing of beauty, which is why I’ve been a fan since first seeing her in the ring. It’s for all these reasons that you should vote for Mia Yim to win this round against Naomi and go into the finals to win this RotR!
So here we are again, it’s time to vote in the poll for your winner. Please vote based on only what you’ve read and seen here. Let’s make this a fair tournament. (Poll ends Friday November 13th, at 8pm ET).
