
This week, AEW beat NXT decisively. AEW pulled in a staggering 913,000 while NXT did significantly worse at 658,000. The difference between shows in 18-49 and 18-34 demographics was positively seismic. AEW got 0.26 in the 18-34 demo while NXT got 0.04 in the same demo.
Based on the numbers as we have them, the highest-rated segment was the Jon Moxley/Kenny Omega AEW Championship match. Couple that with the fact that the appearance of Sting was not advertised (the west coast audience would have foreknowledge) and we have a fairly organic number. Here’s the chart for the week…
Botch Take: Wow! That number blew me away when I first saw it. Regardless of what I think about the show itself this week, those numbers can’t be denied. Mox/Omega was a VERY solid match and deserved the numbers it got (estimates show over a million for that match). Now, let’s see if they can sustain it!
