Smackdown starts with a tribute to Pat Patterson. The Smackdown roster is on the entrance ramp and are joined by Vince McMahon, Gerald Briscoe and Sgt. Slaughter. A ten bell salute is done in honor of Pat and chants of “Thank You Pat!” is played.
Kayla Braxton is in the ring and she introduces Roman Reigns for an interview. Roman comes out with Paul Heyman and Jey Uso. A highlight package is then played of what has been happening in recent weeks and Roman scoffs at the question Kayla asked of if he fears Kevin Owens. Kayla then asks him on if he has been manipulating Jey and he scoffs at that question. He talks about how he is the Tribal Chief and he instructs Heyman to take over. Heyman then starts listing numbers and then the interview is interrupted by Kevin Owens. He talks about how he doesn’t fear Roman and wants to settle things right there. Jey then takes the mic from Heyman and says they accept. Owens then says he was talking to Roman and says he wants Roman at TLC in a TLC match for the Universal Championship. Roman then gets the mic and says they don’t fear anyone and he accepts the challenge. He says he will not fight Owens right there because a lady is in the ring and he leaves with Heyman and Jey. Owens then says he will grow up when Roman grows some and Roman doesn’t take the bait.
Roman Reigns is backstage with Jey Uso and Jey explains why he accepted the challenge from Owens. Roman then reminds him that there are consequences for everything.

A video tribute for the late Pat Patterson is played.
Daniel Bryan, Big E and Rey Mysterio def. Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler and Shinsuke Nakamura. The faces then return to the ring and clear out Zayn and Nakamura before turning their attention to Dolph. Bryan hits him with an Atomic drop, Rey gives him a 6-1-9 and Big E hits him with the Big Ending.
Kevin Owens is interviewed backstage about his challenge to Roman Reigns and he explains his actions. He says he used to respect Roman but he has changed since his return. Owens talks about how respectful he is and the interview is interrupted by Kalisto and treats him with respect before he walks off. Owens then says he wishes he could say what Roman really is and Otis walks up. Otis tells Owens he knows about his reputation with partners and he is ready to run right through Roman and Jey.
Another video tribute for Pat Patterson is played and this one features tweets from various superstars sharing their thoughts on his passing.
Carmella and Sasha Banks are interviewed and Sasha takes issue with Carmella going first. She talks about how Carmella has attacked her and is ready to settle things. Sasha talks about how they trained in NXT and the accolades Carmella has gotten on Smackdown. Sasha says Carmella isn’t in her league and Carmella says Sasha is jealous of her. Carmella talks about how this was Sasha’s dream and that she is came in on a whim and is better than her. Carmella says she is ready to take the title from Sasha and Sasha says they can settle this at TLC.
King Corbin def. Murphy
The Street Profits are backstage and they talk about what is to come on Smackdown. They discuss what has been going on between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso. Robert Roode then walks up to them and says he and Ziggler should be champions. Cesaro then walks up and says he and Nakamura are the standard bearers on Smackdown. All the men argue as the segment ends.
One more tribute package for Pat Patterson is played and it shows more tweets from various superstars that paid tribute to Patterson.
Kevin Owens def. Roman Reigns & Jey Uso by DQ. Otis was taken out of the match when Roman beat him down with the steel stairs. Roman was disqualified when he attacked Owens as the illegal man and put him in the Guillotine. Roman continues to attack him and Jey gets a pair of chairs. The two of them attack Owens with the chairs and Jey hits Owens with the Splash with a chair on Owens’ chest. Roman then attacks Jey with a chair so he can teach him a lesson. Roman then gets in Owens’ face and tells him what is to come and stands tall as Smackdown comes to a close.
