WWE Smackdown Results:

Roman Reigns is seen sitting in a chair and he is reading the contract for his Universal Championship match against Adam Pearce at the Royal Rumble. Paul Heyman is there and explains how the contract is the same for every other match WWE produces. Heyman tells Roman they need a stipulation and says he will take the contract so he can fix it.

Jey Uso comes out to the ring and he cuts a promo ab0ut how Roman and himself run Smackdown. He says that the talent backstage should thank Roman for everything they have backstage. Jey then says he will be in the Royal Rumble and plans on winning and taking the WWE Championship from whoever is champion on Raw. He then talks about Shinsuke Nakamura and how he beat multiple people last week. He then says Nakamura should thank them for letting him survive and wants to see how strong Nakamura really is. Nakamura then comes out and calls Jey Roman’s puppy and eats a kick by Nakamura.

Adam Pearce is in his office with Sonya Deville and they talk about the contract for the Universal Championship match. Paul Heyman then walks in and hands them their version of the contract they want for their match at the Royal Rumble. Heyman talks to Pearce about this opportunity and how much it can mean to Pearce. Heyman tells him that the match could be under no disqualification rules and Pearce does not hesitate to sign the contract. He then hands it back to Heyman as Smackdown goes to commercial.

Jey Uso is backstage arguing with Charles Robinson over the finish of his match. He tells him to do his job or it may cost him his job as he walks off.

The Street Profits are interviewed backstage over their loss last week. They say they do not regret putting the tag titles on the line last week because they are not scared of anybody. They are confident they can win the titles back from Roode and Ziggler.

Roman Reigns is in his room with Apollo Crews and the two are in the middle of a discussion. Roman says he is good with Apollo and then Paul Heyman walks in. Roman says he did not want a No DQ match and wants a last man standing match instead. He tells Heyman to get it done and wants it done tonight.

King Corbin def. Rey Mysterio

Adam Pearce is walking backstage when Paul Heyman approaches him. Heyman tells him that Roman Reigns did not sign the contract and tells him why. Heyman then tells him that Roman wants a last man standing match and hands Pearce the contract. Pearce looks it over and Heyman tells him that it should be handled and walks away.

Rey Mysterio is backstage with his son Dominik and Dominik questions why Rey backed down from King Corbin. Rey explains why he did that and how sometimes you have to back down. Dominik doesn’t like that and then Rey tells him that he knows someone they can talk to if Dominik is that set on hurting Corbin.

Ding Dong, Hello starts with Bayley walking through a door that is set up in the ring. Bayley welcomes everybody to the show and introduces Bianca Belair as her inaugural guest. Belair comes out and Bayley makes her come in through the door in the ring. Bianca takes Bayley’s seat and Bayley does not like that. They then show a replay of Bayley beating Bianca and Bayley asks her why she calls herself “the EST of WWE.” Bianca starts to explain but interrupted by Bayley because she takes issue with it. They trade jabs and Bianca wants a match between them again. Bayley wants them to do an obstacle course and Bianca accepts the challenge.

A video is played of Daniel Bryan training with Otis in the Alpha Academy. Bryan then talks about the training and how it will benefit him in the Royal Rumble. He talks about how the loss next week to Shinsuke Nakamura did not shake his confidence and then Cesaro shows up. Cesaro says Nakamura shook his hand out of a pity and Bryan challenged him to a match that is up next.

Cesaro def. Daniel Bryan

Carmella is interviewed backstage and she talks about Sasha Banks. She says that Sasha is running from her and then Sasha appears and shoves her to the ground. Sasha says Carmella can have her rematch as long as she gets a match with Reginald first.

Apollo Crews def. Sami Zayn

Roman Reigns makes his way out with Paul Heyman and Jey Uso. Adam Pearce then comes out with the contract that Paul Heyman handed him. Pearce takes a seat but then his chair is taken from him because Roman wanted that one. Pearce glances at the contract before signing it and sliding it over to Roman. Roman then signs the contract and tells Pearce that it will be the last contract he signs. Pearce tells him that he has waited all night for him to do that and walks off with the contract. Pearce then says he had an old injury come up and that the card is subject to change. Pearce says he is not sure he will be cleared for the Royal Rumble and that he has a suitable replacement. Kevin Owens’ music hits and he signs the contract. Owens smiles after he signs as Smackdown comes to a close.
