In a somewhat bit of shocking news, Lars Sullivan has reportedly been released by WWE.
In a report by PWInsider, Lars was quietly released from his contract last month and the report states that it was confirmed to them by WWE officials today.
Sullivan was signed by in 2013 and made his WWE NXT debut in May 2017. He made his debut on the main roster in January 2019 but then was away from the company due to personal issues. Sullivan then suffered a knee injury in June 2019, and was on the shelf until last October when he returned to action on SmackDown.
Sullivan’s last match came on the October 23 SmackDown show, when he defeated Chad Gable. He defeated Jeff Hardy the week before that, which was his return match. WWE began airing vignettes and sit-down interviews with Lars in late October and November, but nothing from Lars has been seen since.
There is no word yet as to the possible reason Lars was released or what his future plans are with his release. We will keep you updated if any more news comes out regarding Lars.
S.A.M.’s Spiel: We all are aware that Lars made news during his tenure in WWE for all the wrong reasons with things that were brought up about his past and what he had posted online in the past as well. Lars was quite the deal in NXT, but he never found his footing on the main roster. Time will tell in what Lars does next and if that will involve professional wrestling.
