Olympic Gold Medalist Signs with WWE

In a breaking news story on a Saturday, it has been confirmed that an Olympic Gold Medalist has signed with WWE. Gable Steveson took to Twitter just a little bit ago to confirm that he has indeed signed a contract with WWE. The exact details of the contract are unknown at this time, but it’s likely to be a developmental contract for now. However, seeing as Steveson is an extremely accomplished amateur wrestler, he might be fast tracked to either NXT or the main roster.

Among some of Steveson’s accomplishments are:
– 2020 Olympics Freestyle Wrestling Gold Medalist
– Reigning Pan American Continental Champion
– Three time age-group World Champion
– Dan Hodge Trophy winner
– Reigning NCAA Division 1 National Champion
– 2 time Big Ten Conference champion
– 2 time All American out of University of Minnesota

If University of Minnesota seems familiar in wrestling, it’s because that’s where Verne Gagne, Ric Flair, Larry Hennig, Brock Lesnar, and Shelton Benjamin went to college as well.

Jason’s Jest: I’ve seen some of the action of Steveson in the ring and he is extremely impressive. If all goes well, he could very well be the next Kurt Angle or Shelton Benjamin finding success in WWE.
