WR Predicts – NXT 2.0 WarGames

NXT 2.0 is continuing the great tradition of WarGames, making it into something very 21st century and I don’t think anyone can complain about the great matches they’ve put out. WarGames 2021 doesn’t look like any deviation from that. Please enjoy our predicts and leave your thoughts in the comments section below.

Women’s WarGames Match
Team Raquel (Raquel Gonzalez, Io Shirai, Cora Jade, Kay Lee Ray) vs Team Dakota (Dakota Kai, Toxic Attraction (Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jayne))

Queen KB:
This is the match I’m most excited about. I will fully admit that the match that truly brought my heart to some of the best who came out of NXT was the WarGames match where Bianca, Rhea, and Kai truly killed it and opened my eyes to what I’d been missing. They blew me away and I’ve been a fan of almost every woman in that match since, which is big coming from me.

Onto this match, I have to admit I hope this is Kai’s last WarGames Match as she’s too good to not be on Raw or SD. Her acting chops are right up there with Bliss, who I think of as the best actress on the roster. I’m sure Kai is going to add so much to this match with her deranged character, and could possibly steal the night again, especially with Gonzalez in this match too. On the other hand, I really am not impressed with Rose or Jayne. I’ve tried with Rose and she just isn’t that good, and I just don’t have a feel for Jayne as I’m so excited about Dolin in the ring. I’m expecting the brighter parts of the heel team will carry them.

Then there are the faces. We know Io will kill it in this match, as will KLR. These two alone are enough to say that the heels don’t have a chance! I’m also really impressed with Jade who is still young and green, as is Gonzalez, but they are going to bring big moments to this match. I want to see Gonzalez brought to the main roster after this as I think she’s done all she can in NXT, and it’s an excuse to have Kai follow her. I think Gonzalez needs to be on the main roster to grow into the superstar she’s going to be. Some of them grow up in NXT, like Kai, but some need to be brought up fairly early to continue their growth. It feels like Gonzalez has reached her pinnacle in NXT, so after this match, she needs to be brought up. Yes, I’d love to see KLR on the main roster, and feel like she should be there by the end of 2022, but needs a bit of time for the fans in USA to get to know her.

So many thoughts and ideas for this match, the people in the match, and how great it’s going to be, but in the end, I see Rose and her group of misfits winning this one.  With Rose being NXT Champion, it’s obvious that they believe in her and her little faction, so I think they are going to put her team over here, even though I think the other team is stronger all the way around. Oh, and Io should have been moved to the main roster a while ago, but I worry about what McMahon will do with her there. Just didn’t want you to think that I didn’t think Io should be stuck in NXT.

Queen’s Predicted Winners – Team Heel

Noble Natalie:
I will never, ever root for the streetwalker and her whatevers (Dakota Kai I might, but not the others). Honestly I do prefer Raquel, Io and Kay Lee, not to mention Cora (I don’t know enough about her so she comes across as the weak link). The streetwalker will not be much in the ring, but then again she’s not much in the ring. I see the others fighting hard especially Dakota however Raquel and her team will win.

Winners: Team Raquel

Jester Jason:
Match of the night right here! This match is stacked with talent from top to bottom and should be a barn burner! If this opens the show, the crowd will either be electric for the rest of the night, or extremely disappointed depending on how the rest of the card compares in the ring. We have a ton of high fliers in this match (sans Mandy Rose), so I will not be surprised if we see multiple moves off the top of the cage. With the heat and animosity Toxic Attraction has been getting and building, as much as I don’t want to say it, I think Team Dakota will get the win here.

Winners: Team Dakota

Hair vs Hair Match
Cameron Grimes vs Duke Hudson

Queen KB:
I love Grimes. He might be THE breakout superstar of 2021, but that doesn’t mean I want to see him hairless. I really worry that his bulbous head would look horrid without hair.  He’s been so beaten down lately, the eternal underdog. No matter how many times he prevails in his feuds, each new feud brings him back down to being an underdog, and I think that makes for an amazing character, because he’s so amazing in that role. His entire career could be a string of underdog storylines, and it would work because he’s such a great actor and fantastic in the role.

The first couple weeks after his debut I was very confused, but I liked him for some unknown reason. He had a vibe that was so similar to many of my medieval friends, and so he very quickly become a fave of mine, and he’s grown into someone I can see fighting for the WWE or Universal Championship at WM against almost any of the top guys in WWE. I know he could do it, and do a beautiful job of it, so I’m hoping he continues his greatness as his career continues. It’s also because of that that I see him winning this one. He’s just such a top guy waiting to be brought up that he has to win this and Hudson will lose his hair. Not a massive worry as I see very little in him, beyond being a Barrett wannabe.

Queen’s Predicted Winner & Continued Harriness – Cameron Grimes

Noble Natalie:
Oh this will be fun to watch! I do like Cameron, especially now that we can see his cute face, he always had a great bod. Duke, he’s ok, not bad in the ring, but I want him shaved bald! Cameron Grimes to win.

Winner: Cameron Grimes

Jester Jason:
I just can’t imagine seeing Grimes losing here. There’s no way he’s going to lose the rest of his beard and hair. I expect a physical fight here as Grimes is pissed off and wants to let out some major anger and pent up tension on someone! At the end, I think we see Grimes picking up the win and a bald Duke Hudson.

Winner: Cameron Grimes

NXT Tag Team Championship
Imperium (Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel) (c) vs Kyle O’Reilly & Von Wagner

Queen KB:
This match I’m excited for. Von has been a force since debuting on NXT 2.0, and I see him being groomed for the top as hard and fast as Bron Steiner is being groomed. He is second generation, which I’m sure helped him get his foot in the door, but he’s more than proven that he’s worth it to keep around. In our family business, we hired siblings, and then children, of former employees, then it was their job to keep the job. Von has absolutely proven that he’s going to work his bum off to keep this job, and is impressing us as he does so.

As strong as Imperium is, they really are bloody boring.  I know they are great and think they should be on the main roster as they would really do well with this Imperium against the silly and absurd on Raw and SD. They really are too good to be relegated to NXT, especially when the main roster Tag Division needs solid teams, as long as McMahon doesn’t screw them up. That being said, I see McMahon doing quite well by them on Raw or SD. It’s because of this that I think my truly beloved O’Reilly, and his new puppy Wagner would be a lot of fun as NXT 2.0 Tag Team Champions.

Queen’s Predicted Winners & New NXT Tag Team Champs – Kyle O’Reilly & Von Wagner

Noble Natalie:
Yes, Imperium is good, but I also love watching O’Reilly and Von Wagner, and honestly, I prefer them. Imperium needs to be taken down a notch or two and I really hope O’Reilly and Von Wagner do it.

Winners: Kyle O’Reilly & Von Wagner

Jester Jason:
There’s rumors abound that Walter is either moving to the US or is being built into NXT 2.0. How exactly, I’m not completely sure as he’s been vehemently opposed to moving his family to the US in the past, but that may have changed. Based on this, I don’t think O’Reilly and Wagner will get the win here. During the course of the match, I think we get a Walter sighting, who shows up and takes them out, resulting in a DQ and allowing Imperium to retain.

Winners: Kyle O’Reilly & Von Wagner via DQ

NXT Cruiserweight Championship
Roderick Strong (c) w/The Diamond Mine vs Joe Gacy w/Harland

Queen KB:
Yawn!  I’m so over Strong! I have been for as long as I can remember. His ring work is solid, but his mic skills and charisma are nonexistent. Honestly, I forgot about him as part of UE more often than not. Further, since he cut his hair, I don’t recognize him each time he comes on screen until his name pops up. I don’t know why I have such a strong, Strong blindness, but I do and I doubt it will change, ever.

Then there’s Gacy, who is obviously McMahon’s snowflake toy to poke at woke fans like myself. That McMahon is so happily unwoke really bothers me, but this isn’t about McMahon, it’s about a lame match that holds little interest to me.

All that being said, I truly see Gacy winning the NXT CW strap, even though he’s 40lbs over the 205 limit. Brings me back to when Matt Hardy was dieting insanely to be eligible to fight for, then retain the CW strap way back in the day, but without all the weight loss. Politics always makes for great TV, and that’s why I’m expecting Gacy will win this one, including the strap.

Queen’s Predicted Winner & New NXT Cruiserweight Champion – Joe Gacy

Noble Natalie
Honestly I don’t care, I’m not a fan of either of these, but I honestly prefer Strong to that idiot Gacy. I would love to see some other match any other match. Hey, how about a ladies match?

Winner: Roderick Strong

Jester Jason:
The Cruiserweight division in WWE altogether is non-existent and basically dead. For that reason, I can see Gacy going over here and rebranding the Cruiserweight Title as mentioned on NXT Tuesday. There are strong reports that WWE plans on doing this very thing, and it would be a smart move. By doing so, they would be able to have a secondary Title to the NXT Championship, similar to both the US Championship and Intercontinental Championship, which is something NXT does need of their own.

Winner: Joe Gacy

Men’s WarGames Match
Team Black & Gold (Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, Pete Dunne, and LA Knight) vs. Team 2.0 (Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, Grayson Waller, and Tony D’Angelo) (with Trick Williams)

Queen KB:
If this really is the end of Gargano in WWE, I’m thrilled that his last match includes Ciampa, who has been integral to his WWE career. I’m crushed that it looks like he’s leaving the company and I have serious issues with how NXT is being handled right now, but I’ve been incredibly vocal about my feelings toward WWE, McMahon, and NXT 2.0, so I’ll step away from that for these predicts.

As much as I LOVES Ciampa, Gargano, and Dunne, seeing the direction of NXT 2.0, I truly think Team 2.0 will take the win to move NXT 2.0. It will be a great match, setting up Bron Steiner (sorry, but Breakker is a totally daft name as we all know he’s Baby Steiner) to be (possibly) THE top guy in NXT 2.0, Grayson Waller to be right behind him. I also see Carmello Hayes being groomed to be a top guy in the company. I’m not sure about Tony D’Angelo as he’s just too much of a cliche for me.

FBI was a group I loved dearly, no matter which company or incarnation we are talking about. Nunzio, Johnny The Bull, and Big Vito are three of my faves from that era of wrestling. It makes sense to try again with that whole vibe as it worked so well for so long, but D’Angelo is TOO much of a cliche for it to be at all believable. I’m not happy with the way things are going in WWE as a whole, but I expect this match to be a lot of fun, until it’s not.

Queen’s Predicted Winner – Team 2.0

Noble Natalie:
This should be interesting. All the wrestlers are good, the team black and gold is awesome (except LA Knight, but that’s because he is full of himself). I really want team black and gold to win, but VKM is a dumbass, so I’m going to say team 2.0 all are worthy opponents and I will miss seeing Johnny Gargano after WarGames, I can’t see VKM letting him and his team win, and honestly I doubt he’s going to resign with WWE. Oh, and VKM can stop screwing over Ciampa and Dunne too. Team 2.0 to win. VKM is a dumbass.

Winners: Team 2.0

Jester Jason:
With the direction NXT is going, it appears they are trying to “phase out” the Black & Gold from the product. It’s basically written on the wall that Gargano is leaving WWE (his extension expires Friday) and he’s only on WarGames and this week’s NXT on a handshake agreement to stay an extra week. For these reasons, I just can’t see how Team Black & Gold will pull off the win. Vince is trying to force it upon the fans to move along to the new NXT style and he won’t let go. Plus, with a loss, it would set up a story to write Gargano off NXT and WWE, whether he’s leaving or not.

Winners: Team 2.0
