Fan Favorite Sent Home & Another NXT Star Leaving? (Video)

Over this past weekend, there were two breaking news stories that happened to come out Sunday night, and another that came out Friday. We’ll detail everything below, including what we know.

NXT Talent Leaving this Week?

The first story involves both Johnny Gargano and Kyle O’Reilly. It’s been widely known that Gargano is very likely leaving WWE when his handshake contract extension for one week expires on Friday. What wasn’t known until just last night following WarGames, is the plan for Kyle O’Reilly. His contract is set to expire this week as well, and according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, he is going to follow Gargano wherever he goes, even if it’s resigning with WWE.

Both men were recently at SmackDown and were offered new contracts, including being moved up to the main roster, but there’s no confirmation that they have agreed to stay. Gargano’s wife (Candice LaRae) is out on maternity leave and is expected to give birth very soon. So even if Gargano does resign with WWE, it is very likely he will be taking time off for paternity leave. On the other side, if he doesn’t resign, don’t expect to see him appear in another promotion for some time due to the aforementioned reason.

For those interested, LaRae’s contract isn’t due to expire until mid-2022 after being extended by WWE due to maternity leave. Her contract was initially set to expire at the same time as Gargano’s. Gargano tweeted the following after WarGames:

Fan Favorite Sent Home from House Show

Fan Favorite Jeff Hardy was sent home prior to his match in Corpus Christi last night. He was replaced in the match by Rey Mysterio with King Woods & Drew McIntyre against The Bloodline (Roman Reigns & The Usos). It is unknown exactly what prompted WWE to send him home, and it’s also unknown if he will be appearing on SmackDown this week as well.

What we do know is that Hardy worked the event in Edinburg, TX the night prior (Saturday). During the match, it is reported by fans in attendance that through the match, Hardy seemed to grow sluggish and “weak” as the match progressed. This prompted him to make a tag to Drew McIntyre, at which time, Hardy walked off through the crowd. He was immediately escorted by security as he exited the Arena.

Fans also reported that while he was being escorted out, he stopped numerous times to shake hands, hug, and even take photos with the fans. Why Hardy walked off mid-match is not known either, but he also didn’t return to celebrate with King Woods and Drew McIntyre after their victory over The Bloodline. Speculation going around is that Hardy walked off due to some sort of conflict over debuting his Willow character, which was supposed to happen immediately after the Draft and move to SmackDown, but was either scrapped or delayed indefinitely. Video of the match is below and Hardy walks off at the 10:50 mark.

Charlotte & Andrade Breakup CONFIRMED

For a few weeks now, it was being rumored that Charlotte Flair and Andrade El Idolo broke up after the two unfollowed each other on social media and Andrade removed all pictures of the two together from all sources. According to Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam, the rumors are in fact true and the two have split.

Also being reported by Haynes, the breakup was NOT mutual and/or civil in nature and was apparently messy according to backstage sources. Contrary to the belief that Andrade initiated the breakup, this is not true as Charlotte is the one that called off the engagement. The two began dating in February 2019 and were engaged on January 1st, 2020. The reasoning behind that breakup is unknown.
